Your 5 tech is right there in Tank Carradine who can play both DE positions, TJE, Ian Williams can also fill in at both DE positions if needed, Kaleb Ramsey should be coming back from injury. fail mr. regular poster for not knowing the roster.

While I'm hopeful of Tank being a starter this year, it seems there were plenty of opportunities for him to step in and show something last year, but he didn't.

Unsure if it was Harbs or Fangio who really didn't feel like he was up to the task (doubt it was Tomsula, but we'll find out pretty quick). Could be that he still wasn't 100% healthy. Mental errors was the frequently heard excuse. Again, seems like he had plenty of time to learn the playbook as well as lots of practice. Real NFL snaps are different, but there appears to be concerns. I don't know if I would count on him as a long term replacement for either Cowboy or RayMac.

TJE? Really? Good backup. Ian Williams seems injury prone, and Ramsey is a complete unknown.
When posters compare an NFL redshirt player as "unknown" to a yet-to-be-drafted player, they make a distinction without a difference. By not yet playing in the NFL, both are "unknown."

I think its actually sending a message to Blaine Gabbert. Kevin Rodgers can do three things, be a project and play himself on the practice squad, show he's not ready for the NFL and be released or play lights out and make Gabbert expendable. Grayson I see as the true back up to Kap and/or #3 QB.

you are talking about homepages whereas this is a message board in the first place

ramsey was very injury-prone in his collegiate career. i dont trust him.
dockett is 30+ and is coming from an acl tear.
justin is 35,an injury is probable in this age. or a slowdown ovr.
tank havent proved anything up til now.
ian is a NT here and very injury-prone.
tje is a run-stuffer.
dial just solid so far.
dorsey sucked at DE with the chiefs.

now, you want to battle with this group in the nfc west? good luck with that.

two rb and qb each but not a single 5tech???
Fail, mr. mod.

This.

Seems like we're in better shape than that with respect to RB and I wouldn't draft 2 QB's. Waste of at least one pick.

Leaning towards BPA at #15 who is a fit along the DL or LB. We have needs.

Late round picks especially 7th round pick are usually project players or practice squad players, or did you think picks like Carter Bykowski could step right in?? Just wondering if you people even remembered him??

7th round picks are project players, so that would make Ramsey a project player. The DL needs more depth

You people fail to realize what a mock draft really is, you people think a mock draft is based on who you like, no it's supposed to be based on what you think Baalke will do.

What do you mean, you people?

Peters is a serious reach at 15. Doesn't seem like a Baalke move to me, being that he drafted 4 DBs in last years draft. Baalke would be trading down.

You're right. And a lot of us don't think Baalke will ignore the DL and draft two QBs

back then in 2011, we agreed that the Niners are in need of a premier pass-rusher or a good CB (and a franchise-QB was needed as well). Baalke drafted Aldon Smith (and Kaepernick).

In 2012, we agreed that we need more speed at WR (and at RB too) and that we need another WR anyway. Baalke drafted AJ Jenkins (and LMJ).

In 2013, after Goldson's departure, we knew that we need a new FS. Baalke drafted Reid. Additonally to that, everyone was aware of Cowboy's age, thus he drafted Carradine.

In 2014, after Rogers left us, we needed a slot CB and everyone knew that Bethea would not be here forever, that was even more the case after the contract details were known. Baalke drafted CB Ward.

Conclusion:
Baalke will certainly going for need-based BPA but apparently his 1st-round picks always matched our biggest needs in the particular years.
Now, besides ILB and perhaps CB, our next big need imho (though I am not the only guy with this opinion) is the defensive line. I wouldn't even say that we will pick a d-liner in round 1 but I am very sure that one will be drafted by the 49ers with our original 4th-rounder at the very latest.
Contrary to that, you don't pick a single d-liner and refer to "what would Baalke do"...indeed, he usually did what we expected him to do.

Exactly, the unthinkable, many MANY people thought Eric Reid was a huge reach in the 1st round. And tell me why you think Marcus Peters is a huge reach??

You do realize who the HC is right?? Dude is in love with Ian Williams and Glenn Dorsey, and show me how I ignored the D-line??

Thing is, Ramsey when healthy is no 7th round pick, same with Trey Millard.

Thing is, you can not count on a injury-prone prospect at all.

Again, if Tomsula has faith in them who are we to question?? You people act like it's me making the decisions?? Most of my prospects I've listed the 49ers had visits with, I'm basing this whole thing off of what Baalke would do.

Too many red flags for 15 IMO. Not good in run support. Doesn't seem to be a good teammate or leader. Disrespectful to his coaches. Lack of character and integrity. Not consistent in effort.
