Yeah, that's about par for the course. These things rarely go very fast. That's part of the reason I don't want to get bogged down in the trades part of it. If they happen naturally and quickly, great, but otherwise it just slows things down waiting for things that aren't likely to happen.

At this rate, we will probably get two rounds in before the combine starts, which would be a fine pace. Anything better than that would be fantastic.

HOUSTON - would like to listen to Denver's offer of moving up from its 1st round spot all the way to Houston's 16th spot..

Yea they really need some CB help especially in that division.

And I wanted TB to keep V Jax to give Winston all the help possible as a rookie. Wasn't a bad idea for Cheifs

This is exactly my personal worst case scenario for SF at 15. In the real draft, I would hope they would have moved up slightly to grab either one of the top 2 WR/DL prospects or the top CB. Several of which went within 2-4 picks, so a move up would be very reasonable. Or, if these are the options, I would hope they would move down and try and pick up another day two pick.

But assuming they do pick here, they have to go BPA. And with Aldon's uncertain future and our pass rush always seeming to be half a step away from a sack, going OLB may not be out biggest need, but it certainly will help our D. Especially if we can no longer depend on Cowboy occupying 2 defenders, we may need more impact from our pass rusher and more of them to be able to rotate in and out for constant pressure.

With that in mind, SF selects OLB, Vic Beasley, Clemson.

I forgot I sent you that trade, I wanted the Chiefs to get a WR early but the more I thought about it, the more I think they'll get one in FA or how I attempted to trade with you.

You might have a lot of upset fans if that is what happens with White and Shelton on the board

I don't mind Beasley though, you think he would get some playing time if Aldon stays clean? Also just my opinion, but I think drafting a big time DE would help our pass rush more right now than an OLB.

White and Shelton are not on the board. Shelton went at 11 to Chicago and White went at 12 to Cleveland.

And I agree a big time DE would be a better fit. But to me, I don't think there is a "big time" DE left on the board who fits a 3-4 who is worth the pick at 15. Maybe as the process goes forward, my option will change, but those left are either more 43 players, NTs or not top 10-15 type talents. I couldn't justify reaching for the next best DL player with a guy many have as a top 5-10 talent still on the board.

We will see how Beasley compares to Aldon or Lynch, but between Aldon's injury issues and off field stuff, and the fact that Lynch looks good, but is far from a sure thing, adding more talent at OLB is never a bad thing. It's a QB driven league, so getting to the QB is paramount. I always look to the Giants with this. They keep drafting pass rushers and then in spite of injuries, age, contract issues, performance decline or whatever, they always seem to have elite pass rushers to spare. That is never a bad thing.

With Justin either gone or on his way out and Brooks likely gone, we need an more talent at pass rusher. Whether that's at OLB or a DE who can create pressure ultimately doesn't matter. And to me, with the top DL, WR and CB prospects gone, going BPA at OLB makes as much sense as any other option.

Yeah after I read this post I made my second post a BPA system because I completely forgot they had been taken.
I can agree with Brooks leaving, you can never have to many good pass rushers.

I don't mean to be a jerk, but it isn't very realistic.
I don't think a division rival would allow another one to move up 13 spots with only a second round draft pick.

Not to mention the trade value is
16 = about 1000 points
29 + 80 = (640) + (180) = 820

First, as I've stated before, not a fan of inter-divisional trades since they very rarely happen in the real draft and because in this scenario, you are trading with yourself, so there is no chance of refusal. But we allowed one, so we can consider it.

However, you need to clarify what is actually being traded. Is it a a first and second round pick (in which case it would be much higher than 80 overall) or a 1st and a 3rd?

Indy is sending Houston their 1st and 2nd (not 3rd round.. just a mistake on the typo)..

it's really ok if you guys don't approve it, I basically just copied the 49er trade with the patriots (Jerry Rice).. I really don't look at the TRADE CALCULATOR..
