IMO Culliver is the better player + might be easier to retain.

If Iupati walks I don´t think there is a chance Boone will be cut before TC.

Lost me when you said Culliver was the better player.

Have you watched the All22 this season? Here are the cold numbers.

Chris Culliver: 839 snaps, 15 passes defensed and 4 interception on 73 throws, longest reception allowed 45 yards, NFL QB Rating when trowing into his coverage 66.5, +8.5 overall grade by PFF (14th in the NFL).

Perrish Cox: 965 snaps, 18 passes defensed and 5 interceptions on 96 throws, longest reception allowed 63 yards, NFL QB Rating when throwing into his coverage 78.0, +1.2 overall grade by PFF (35th in the NFL),

To be fair, Cully also plays to the QB's left (the place we put the weaker CB) and he missed the Denver game where Manning roasted Cox (no shame in that though). Cox plays in the slot and outside so Cox > Cully.

And to put things REALLY into perspective this was Culliver´s 1st season after his ACL.

By the way here are their numbers without the Week 7 Game vs Broncos.

Chris Culliver: NFL QB Rating when throwing into his coverage 66.5, +8.5 overall grade by PFF

Perrish Cox: NFL QB Rating when trowing into his coverage 73.1, +1.6 overall grade by PFF.

This is a great draft and mock offseason. Not only is it great, but it's very realistic. I am curious as to why you chose Chris Culliver over Perrish Cox? Besides age, and it can't be more than 1 or 2 seasons, I don't get it. Cox can man the slot and play outside, and we also have Johnson who is capable of the same as well. I just like the flexibility of Cox as opposed to Culliver. I also think Cox should be an easier extension (cheaper). Also, who do you envision returning kicks/punts? Sad to say, but as scary as he was back there, LaMichael James is better than Bruce Ellington.

Thanks.

Because of the reasons you just listed + Culliver´s off the field incidents there is a chance that Cox market value will be higher. Also with D.Johnson, J.Ward, T.Smith and K.Acker we would have 4 CBs on the roster who can play in the slot (IIRC K.Acker can also return punts and kicks).

Darius Jennings, Trindon Holiday, LJ McCray, Bruce Ellington, Tevin Coleman or Kenneth Acker.

I'm guessing we'll draft a DL in the 1st round assuming the value is there. We lost Ray Mac and possibly Justin Smith.
Stopped reading when I saw the suggestion to let Cox walk. Dude was amazing this year.

It´s not even close.since the bye week (Week 9 vs Rams - Week 17 vs Cardinals)

Chris Culliver: NFL QB Rating when throwing into his coverage 46.6 (that´s 5th best in the NFL by the way), 12 passes defensed, 4 interceptions, longest reception allowed 25 Yards, 18 receptions allowed.

Perrish Cox: NFL QB Rating when throwing into his coverage 96.4 (66th in the NFL), 6 passes defensed, 2 interceptions, longest reception allowed 63 Yards, 38 receptions allowed.

It makes perfect sense. But idk, it's really hard for me to let him walk. I look at him in the same way as a Tramaine Brock. Homegrown talent, even though Cox wasn't drafted by us. But I believe he was out of the league when we picked him up because of his legal troubles and hasn't had a single incident happen since. Some have argued for signing both, but it really makes no sense considering who we already have in the mix (Johnson, Reaser, Acker, plus the potential of another draft pick). We'd essentially have three guys making starter money.
I like your draft...White and Coleman could be very exciting.

Yes. Actually aside from NC and one or two other posters I was the only one that thought Cox would make the 53 and step up this year. I just prefer Culliver over Cox.

Like you I don´t see us re-signing both.

I liked Cox too (and remember people here being pissed we kept him over Morris lol), but I agree Culliver is the guy I would sign. He's cheaper, younger, and played pretty darn well this season
Thanks, very good analysis, cannot see the team receiving a 3rd rounder for Brooks, 6th or 7th rounder my guess.

Ahmad Brooks for a 6th or 7th is almost as bad as Terrell Owens for Brandon Whiting.

Even Jamie Winborn and Cam Johnson netted 7th round picks.
Nice mock. Really like 1st couple picks
Good mock.

A few things though. I doubt we bring back Gore and draft a RB in round 2. One or the other IMO. Hyde and the 2nd round pick with Hunter as a change of pace works.

I doubt Justin Smith is back and although I like Odrick, I think Tank is ready to start this year.

And no way is Vernon back at his current salary. The dude cashed it in when he never got his new contract. Do we want him on this team?

Other than the little nitpicking things...nice work.
