Thanks for the write up!

Well While I'm not a huge fan of hiring the HC within the organization....as long as it's not Tomsula then I can live with it lol. Does Vic and Trestman have any past experience together?? I'm not huge on Trestman and maybe Chud in Indy might be a better fit

I like the re-signings you had and prefer Cully to Cox based on age, but I would be willing to go either way based on price. I also think extending Aldon would make sense (lower the cap this year) and throw in some restructures like Kap, Willis, SJ etc...

Wouldn't trade for Djax you'd also have to take on his contract which is a $9.2 million cap hit in 2015.

They resigned Hunter this year and it wouldn't make much sense to cut him (only $735,000 against the cap).

Pea wouldn't be a bad fit, but like I said they are almost at the cap max right now and still will have to pay some dead money with the cuts your talked about.

Like the positions you looked at and if we draft DGB then I will consider it a success ...Don't know much about Davis, but he is projected as a 3rd-4th pick and I think SF needs DE they seem set at DT/NT with Dorsey, Williams and Dial...I wouldn't mind grabbing Ifo, but they don't really have the luxury of drafting injured players because they don't have a ton of picks like in years past.

Still super early and there I some huge changes coming this off season...still can't believe they let go of Harbs

Again thanks for the write up!
Yeah it took forever to write up bc I kept changing a lot..also I didn't look it up and didn't think or kno djax salary against the cap is that high.. I was thinking maybe 7.. So that's not happening lol..I agree how much it sucks harbaugh is gone.. Literally just got the update a michigan pAped wrote john not Jim accepted the job lol but thanks for your opinion..

I don't get what makes everyone think Kap will restructure. He signed the most team-friendly QB deal in recent NFL history and if we cut him he'd probably get more money from the Jags, Jets, Redskins, or Titans. We have no leverage and frankly, he's a young superstar QB who is going to be nearly impossible to replace.

If you're that worried about Kap's contract then the right move is to trade him for the #1 or #2 pick.

Also, I'm getting to the point where I distrust any mock that has us taking a QB. Virtually every capable backup in the league is a young vet who has some starting experience but probably was doomed by playing for a s**tty team -- Think Brandon Weedon in Dallas, Sanchez in Philly, Colt McCoy in Washington, Vick in New York, Cassell in Minnesota, Flynn in GB, Shaun Hill in STL etc.

Gabbert, Mike Glennon, Ponder, Cassell etc is about the best we can hope to do here.
Besides Hunter already being signed to a contract for next year, you pretty much hit the nail on the head about changes/moves with the existing roster.

Like the draft a lot. Hit all the major areas of need and values look about right.

Still looking for a better option than Clausen for the veteran backup QB, but the pickings are slim. Paea would be a good pickup and cheaper then J. Odrick.

Nice work.
Thanks for the work!!!

Not sure on the HC thing.

NO to Trestman. I have zero confidence in him.

Like the FA signings especially Paea!

Agree on Hunter - injured 2 years in a row - he's done.

He doesn't have leverage he played awful this year...teams aren't going to trade the 1st or 2nd pick for him and his contract don't be crazy.....he is one more really bad season away from being cut man....especially because SF his hiring a new HC.

Why?? Nothing wrong with grabbing a young QB for hopefully our offensive minded HC to work with....nothing wrong with some competition.

Considering the division we play in, the devastating injuries to the oline and TE's, and HaRoman fiasco this season... He wasn't awful by any stretch of the imagination.

If we cut him he'd still be BY FAR the best QB on the market.

Since we don't have a replacement for him and aren't in rebuilding mode (where we can live without a QB for a couple years) he has all the leverage.

Colin Kaepernick has a scheduled $10.4 million base salary, and the 49ers could lower it down to the minimum of $745,000, thus creating a $9.655 million signing bonus. A signing bonus prorates out over five years at $1.931 million a year. This would give the 49ers a maximum savings of $7.724 million, but obviously removes some of the flexibility they currently have if they decide to move on from him at some point in the future.

Yep, I wrote that. Kap's deal was designed, IMO, to be restructured in 2015, if not, then why give him a $15.4M salary cap hit for 2015? Makes no sense then, especially when the highest the cap has been mocked at is $140M. Now I've been told privately that it's been mocked as high as $144M per team, but idk what the cap will be come March, hoping it is on the high end, because we are right there at the cap limit.
I think i'd resign Cox over Culliver/ Sadly Brock is still a total mystery
