Dompernick's EARLY 2015 offseason

McDaniels is quite the polarizing figure, I don't know if his system would fit ours since we don't have a pocket QB like Brady.

After all, how does it look on Baalke if he brings in a guy like Gresham after drafting McDonald with a 2nd round pick? It doesn't help Baalke's case that the Seahawks took McDonald's team mate Luke Wilson 3 rounds/103 picks after Vance.

Notable Tight ends taken after Vance McDonald

Travis Kelce
Jordan Reed
Luke Wilson
Mychal Rivera

Every time I look at that 2013 draft I imagine what could have been. And I'm not even talking about tight end. Just looking at the runningbacks in that class makes me vomit!

Baalke hasn't shown any ego problems with managing mistakes and under performing players in the past, I have no idea why you should suggest he would start now. That being said, I think we need a decent tight end coach and some better playcalling and we will see much more from McDonald.

Agreed, I mean he already dump pretty much everyone from the 2012 draft lol...I like Clay as a TE FA, he can play HB,WR,TE kinda like Walker did.

I like Clay as well but I think he is gonna get paid handsomely because he is a Swiss army knife kind of player. And I think we have a player like that possibly already on our roster in Trey Millard. I think grabbing Gresham is much more reasonable.

I don't see Clay getting paid more than Gresham in FA...so you think they way to turn Millard into a TE?
Randall Cobb behind SJ and Boldin? WTF

Although I listed him behind SJ & Boldin on the depth chart I envisioned our offense primarily running a 3 WR, 1 H-Back, 1 RB set.
Not so sure about drafting a speed RB in rd 4 and a speed WR in rd 5. If we sign Cobb to go with Boldin, SJ, Patton,Ellington and 1st rd pick White you would be spending a 5th rd pick for a 7th WR?

Then you want to spend our 4th rd pick on a 4th string RB.

I would pass on those 2 picks.
