I haven't specified the exact spots of the picks because I was simply too lazy Round 2 WR Moncrief, Ole Miss I assume that we trade down about 10 spots and receive a low 3rd-rounder. Imho, this guy is a full package. Would be a very good #3 or #4 Wideout respectively in 2014 and could be Boldin's or Crabtree's successor after that, Round 2 DT Tuitt, Notre Dame You can never have too many quality linemen, neither in the starting formation nor on the bench. I think that we have to jump a little bit, thus a future pick will be sent away. Round 2 CB Jonyer, FSU This guy is a beast. Non-stopping motor. Can play nickelback. One of our 3rd-rounders, our 4th-rounder and a 7th-rounder is gone via this trade. Round 2 DE Marcus Smith, Lousville We need an insurance in case of Aldon's possbile suspension, arrest or whatever. I think that we have plenty of good pass-rushers but I do make an assumption here. Round 3 traded Round 3 CB Breeland, Clemson to be honest, I forgot why I would pick him But I saw that Phoenix likes, so ask him. Round 3 WR Archer, Kent State We need a true slot guy. Could take over the return game too. Round 3 SS Vereen, Minnesota According to CBS, short arms but fast, high football IQ. Can play every position in the defensive backfield as well. Round 4 traded Round 5 ILB Barrow, LSU Looks like a huge overload at the LB-corps. But just think about an upgrade over Moody, Whilhoite or Fleming. I think that Barrow has got the athleticism to be a very good Bowman-backup. Perhaps he will be a good football player in about 2-3 years from now. Round 6 FB Millard, Oklahoma you know why Round 7 OG Long CB Colvin traded Critique -even if it seems like we have a lot of good o-line prospects, we can and will always draft more of them. I strongly assume that Long won't be the only o-liner picked by us. -an OLB and an ILB is too much, even in my opinion. But another Bowman could be needed in the near future. -another proven receiver would be an asset. wanted to go for Landry in round 4 (before I thought about a trade for Joyner). But I don't see us picking three receivers. I would't even rule out that the Niners leave the draft with just one WR. -another TE-pick isn't out of consideration. I think that a quality #3-TE who could replace Vernon or Vance in case of injury, is needed. With this mock draft, we would be set at the d-line, LB-corps, WR (assuming we extend Crabtree) and CB for many years to come (more or less), imho.

I see the logic, but I would prefer to trade up than trade down in round 1.

I think Tuitt and Moncrief's places should be swapped based on pure rankings. Tuitt will be gone before Moncrief.

Not a bad draft i must say. Although i am skeptical on joyner and breeland. They are both tremendous athletes, do not get me wrong. But, if we have brock and culliver as the primary 2 CBs, we need that shifty nickel corner such as verrett from TCU that has speed and jumping abilities that are beyond imaginable. If verrett was 6'0 or 6'1 no doubt in my mind he could be as touted as gilbert is being analyzed. The guy is a beast and he is my draft crush, the niners should get him with their first pick whether trading up, staying put, or moving back just a few spots. GO NINERS!!!!

Based on their bodies of work in college, either Matthews or Adams would rank ahead of Moncrief. Baalke must draft Crabtree's replacement...and either of those guys would be odds-on studs to do that.

I like the other picks save Archer...he's just too small, IMHO. Ellington or Herron both have the quickness to play slot receiver and the KR skills...and both approach 200 lbs.

Love the Dri Archer pick, but I don't see him as a slot receiver, I see him as a change of pace impact player that can stretch the field for big plays in the passing game as well as being a scatback in the running game.

CBS is my ranking, just for the info.

imho, any WR who is quick, can play in the slot. yes, Archer needs some weight, otherwise the LBs could kill him.
iirc, I picked Archer with our original 3rd-rounder, Ellington is gone then already. Herron is an alternative.

imho, Moncrief is a full package. why shouldnt he be crab's successor?

He doesn't need to do any such thing. People are only assuming that Crabtree WILL be gone, doesn't mean that is Baalke's thought process.

I hope we don't let crab go...he is in his peak. I agree though I don't like archer...only has value as a Kr. I can't see him contributing on offense
