Player Comparisons 2014

Was wondering if some of you draft buffs here in the Zone would make a few player comparisons with this years rookies. My biggest comparison is Justin Gilbert. I feel like he can be compared to Patrick Peterson, but I feel Peterson was a better DB coming out than Gilbert, but I think Gilbert could develop into a better DB. Ahmed Plummer was the #1 rated CB coming out and even though he was a solid player, he never developed much better than his first couple of years. RW McQuarters was the same way, he seemed like he had a ton of talent and could be a great shutdown CB and also had the return abilities that made him a valuable player at the time, but he never really panned out to be that lockdown talent. Then there was Jason Webster, at the time I remember literally screaming at my TV saying how he was rightly named Webster because of his midget stature, but dude was a baller and was arguably one of our best DBs during that time. I know it's not an exact science, but I think the so called safer picks almost never turn out as the best picks. So when comparing this years DB class, who do the top guys compare to?

This isn't a perfect comparison, but Gilbrt reminds me of DeAngelo Hall. Both are fast, good returners and defensive playmakers. However, both struggle in coverage at times

I see that too. I keep thinking that Gilbert has the potential to break out past his perceived ceiling though.

Trading up for Hall now seeing how he panned out would definitely not be worth doing with the guys that will be available at #30

Blake Bortles = Joe Flacco

Sammy Watkins = Mike Wallace

Teddy Bridgewater = Jason Campbell

Mike Evans = Brandon Marshall

Justin Gilbert = Aqib Talib

Darqueze Dennard = Brent Grimes

Sorry I jumped to a conclusion, you said "DB class" my bad, anyway here's a second look:

Bradley Roby = Jabari Greer, aggressive in coverage but takes bad angles

Jason Verrett = Richard Sherman, (not mouth wise or body type wise), shutdown CB, plays like he's 6'4".

Kyle Fuller = Alterraun Verener, fluid athlete, good ball skills and has the quickness/hips to stay with smaller receivers.

keith mcgill=richard sherman (but better ;])

brandon cooks= desean jackson

jarvis landry = anquan boldin

odell beckham = steve smith

jason verrett= darelle revis

mike evans = vincent jackson

lache seastrunk = everything lamichael james was suppose to be

darqueze dennard= bradon browner

deone bucannon = cam chancellor
