Gotta show some love for a local Phoenix guy. He's a very interesting prospect because he can be worked into pretty much any system and he's played a wide variety of positions while at USC. He's been a 3-4 OLB, a 4-3 ILB, a DE and more. He has experience playing in coverage and while he doesn't seem like the prototypical 3-4 OLB, he is an interesting prospect at that position or even at ILB for the 49ers. He's a very experienced guy, a team leader, has his bachelor's and Master's degree, obviously intelligent, by all accounts a hard-worker and has NFL bloodlines with his father having played in the league for over a decade. He's expected to be a late round pick and I think he's someone that might be worth a look in the 5th or 6th rounds.

Oh and I thought this was pretty cool......it does make me feel kind of old doe.

He may be someone to keep an eye on late. The 49ers have met with Trent Murphy (Stanford), Marcus Smith (Louisville), Cassius Marsh (UCLA), and Xavius Boyd (Western Kentucky), signaling that they may be looking to add a DE/OLB in the middle to late rounds.

I love the versatility and if Michael Wilhoite continues to look as good as he has, some team will eventually want him starting. I'm not sure how long we extended him, but it's always good to be prepared.
