49ers under Baalke have typically targeted players and moved up to get them if necessary:
2011 Draft
1st round: Some what surprising drafted OLB Aldon Smith
2nd round: Moved up to draft QB Colin Kaepernick
2012 Draft
4th round: After moving down, they moved up to draft OG Joe Looney
2013 Draft
1st round: Moved up to draft Safety Eric Reid
Which DB will they move up to draft in 2014?
CB: Justin Gilbert
CB: Darqueze Dennard
S: Calvin Pryor
S: LaMarcus Joyner
S: Haha Clinton-Dix
Or will they stand pat and draft whoever is left at 30.

Like 2013 49ers will go DB in 2014 in 1st round due to DEEP WR class

Not a just a WR thread if you read it. Asks which DB they draft in the first and who do they draft in the 2nd as unless the 49ers REALLY target a WR that they feel they can't do without and are willing to trade a ton to move up, they aren't getting the top 7-8 Receivers unless they want to move up in the 2nd.

Personally, I think as deep as this draft is, we need to come away with 2. Crabs future is uncertain, Boldin isn't getting younger. In 2015 possibly only Patton is our only WR. WR take time to develop, need to plan ahead.
Edit: I completely read your post all wrong. My apologies.

I agree completely.
Crabs is here in 2014, and I can see him getting traded, or letting him walk, or franshiced for a year.
In 2015 Patton is here, as is Anquan Boldin, unless he signs a 1 year deal which is highly unlikely.
2nd round I think they go WR and I also think 3rd round.
What about the ultimate draft sleeper WR John Brown in the 4th round? He's a Workout warrior to an extent, as he did it in DII. Very similar to TY Hilton.
Would love to draft:
2nd round: Donte Moncreif, Allen Robinson
or 3rd Round: Jeff Janis
4th Round: John Brown or L'Damian Washington
or 5th Round: Kevin Norwood

1st round, I would be happy w/Calvin Pryor
with the the other 2nd rounder we can draft: CB Kyle Fuller, Lou Purifoy, Bradley Roby,
4th round: Antone Exum is he's there
or 5th/6th round: Aaron Colvin if he's there
1st: CB/S
2a: WR
2b: CB/S
3a: ???
3b: WR/???
4a: ???
4b: WR/???
I really like the options we have with so many picks!!!

Whatever's best for the team. If we could still land Moncrief, Robinson, or Landry in the 2nd while using our 1st to upgrade the secondary, this seems like the best scenario for the team. I'll be kind of disappointed though if we don't draft one of these top receivers, I mean the whole point of having a draft deep in receiver talent is to get one.

The 49ers will have a plan. They may go for a WR in round 1 because the CB position is very deep as well and there are some great CB's available in rounds 2 and 3 and even some that could be available later. There are safties like Dixon or Loston they could get in the 3rd or 4th round as well.
Then again it wouldn't surprise me to see them draft a DL if a player like Stephen Tuitt is there at #30.

Personally I think it is a good idea because we may have several DB's depart. And if Boldin re signs that makes the WR less pressing than CB / S positions. It's a smart move for them to do this and I hope they do. It's less popular sure. Fans always want a WR. It's like that for all 32 teams every single year for 25 years running. The want a WR. They are fun and exiting to watch. It makes sense. But it's not always your biggest need.

As long as we get Moncrief or Matthews @ receiver, I'd be fine with taking a corner in the first.

In my perfect world, We'd walk out with Joyner in the first, Moncrief with one of our seconds, and Bryant with one of our 3rds.
I wouldn't be upset with Joyner/Pryor, Matthews, and Herron
or
Cooks, Moncrief, Loston.
Basically, I want Day 2 to end with two WR and one S. I trust Baalke to sort out priorities among CB, DL, OL. They seem to do well finding value picks at those positions.

The more I look at how deep this draft is, the more it makes sense to trade back from #30 into the 2nd round to give us ammo to move up if we need a guy.
