Why 2 safeties so early?

Like I wrote. We need a starter at SS in this draft. Just because we're taking one doesn't mean he'll automatically work out. Which ever one isn't the starter could also see a lot of time in big nickel in 2 TE sets or if Reid keeps suffering concussions.

I don't like it
I like both players but no need to waste 2 early picks on S
One early and one late is fine. We need depth at other areas too

lol Dawson played great last year but he's 39! Why do we have to wait a year too long to let these guys go? (see David Akers) There might not be as good of FA kickers next year. And Gano WAS better than Dawson last year. And Abdullah is a better ST player than Ventrone but actually plays a position.(well)

Not a fan of trading Hunter also. And Henderson isn't that good as a Tackle, abused at Senior Bowl.

If Lattimore is healthy Hunter brings next to no value to the team. James has had so few carries with him here I'm not sure who's better. We must have used a 2nd round pick on him for a reason. He needs to be used more a 3rd downs and try and get him matched up on LBs. James career avg 4.7 ypc. Hunter 4.6 ypc.???? I do know that James adds return value and 2 more years on his contract. Hunter's a FA after this year. And no Henderson isn't that good at LT (but a better RT than Snyder) That's why I wrote he would be Iupati's replacement next year. At Guard

Why mess with what works on STs. Dawson is legit, as are Osgood and Ventrone. They don't need to play WR and SS to help the team win. Both helped us win games on STs. Worth their pay.

I agree with all but the bold. 39 years old could drop off the cliff at anytime, and drafted kickers are usually statistically comparable to vets, at a small fraction of the cost. We gotta save money somewhere, and there's no telling when Dawson will become Akers. Be like Bill Walsh: better to let them go a year early than a year late.

nice, except for henderson (bad football player who looks good) and thomas (doesn't get it; may never).
sweet 7th round.
Darryl Morris makes the roster.

Watching the combine today really makes me want to take Calvin Pryor with our first pick and pick up two wide receivers with our second and third. Deep WR class. Even though Alan Robinson is my favourite player in this draft. And there's no way that Dri archer or bodine make it where I have them pick now.
Hated the way your draft started, but rounds 3-7 were very good.
