The Draft Trey Millard Bandwagon Boards Here

Millard tore an ACL, so he can be placed on the NFI list and redshirt the year, learning the playbook and rehabbing the proper way.

What you all think of his run blocking ? Not sure he is fully capable of playing fullback in our offense. Most times he goes straight to the knees. Does he have the power to knock somebody back ?
I love his athleticism and versatility. He could be a real joker and a scheme problem for defenses and i would like to have him for that.
But if we look for a Miller and Dixon replacement i like J.C. Copeland 5-11 285 LSU who is a crushing blocker and a monster as a runner in short yardage situations.

Any thoughts on getting both guys as we can put Millard on IR ?

He's an outstanding blocker. What exactly makes you think that he can't play FB in this offense, especially considering that they took a guy who played OLB in college and made him a successful blocker? In terms of blocking, Millard is one of the more experienced guys that they could bring in.

The thing about Millard that is most impressive is his consistency in everything, as a blocker, runner and receiver, he's equal in pretty much every aspect.

Thanks for the fast response !
I dont have much own tape of him ( i know fail ) so i must rely on the few videos that are out there, like this for example http://draftbreakdown.com/video/trey-millard-vs-texas-2012/
So i wasn´t sure if it was scheme wise or he does not have the raw power of someone like Miller or Copeland (who played DT ) which is needed in short yardage situations as a pure FB in a power running offense like the niners.

I wanted to post a thread on another TE, in my opinion he is the next Vernon Davis.

Anybody remember Colt Lyerla?

6'5/240 able to play RB in college, runs around a 4.4-4.5 40

I think this guy is the next sleeper in the draft, Harbaugh knows what he is capable of as they faced in college.
I think he'd make a great pick. I've been tinkering with a mock the last few days and I have both he and Colvin as day three Oklahoma red shirt pick-ups.

He'd be in the drug program from the get go. Stage 2 I believe given his history unless the CBA prevents the league/teams from doing so.

My bad!
I wanted to start his own thread but i haven't been a member for long enough yet haha.

If we can get him cheap, and possibly towards the end of the draft, i think he can be top 3 TE in the NFL. Obviously has the talent.

I do like Millard though
