My 2014 SF 49ers Mock Draft

My 2014 SF 49ers mock draft

-When it comes to re-signing players, who knows. Personally, I'd like them to do away with Rogers, Brown and Whitner. Brown and Whitner will demand too much and Rogers just simply doesn't have it anymore. That's why I have us drafting 3 CBs and a safety. The thing all these guys have in common is size..and thunder. Ring a bell?...Seattle.

-I know our coaching staff likes to move guys around, so that's why I have them drafting 2 DE/DL prospects.

-Attaochu has the intangibles to play OLB..possibly ILB.

-On offense, we must resign Boldin. A 2 year deal sounds good.

Free Agents

-Julian Edelman or Jacoby Jones as a returner. I'd like to see if we could get a pick out of Lamichael James..he's clearly not the answer. Edelman and Jones shouldn't demand too much..field position is important.

-Maybe trade one of our 7ths for Jonathan Martin..Stanford guy..he's big..Harbaugh knows him.

1) TRADE BACK INTO EARLY 2ND ROUND. PICK UP ADDITIONAL 2015 3RD ROUND PICK.
Davante Adams-WR
Fresno State
6-2 216
131-1718-24 tds

Love him. Don't need to trade up for him..might as well trade back and pick up a 2014 pick. Has great hands and seperation. Great size too..could push 220-225 in an NFL weight room.

2) (via Chiefs) Bradley Roby-CB
Ohio State
5-11 192
3 ints, 68 tackles

Ball-hawking corner

2) Deone Bucannan-SS
Washington State
6-1 220
109 tackles, 5 ints, 3 forced fumbles
--My goodness does this guy hit hard..Bucannan and Reid as safeties frightens me. Both hard-hitting athletes.

3) (via Titans) Jeremiah Attaochu- OLB/DE
Georgia Tech
6-3 252
12 sacks, 15.5 TFL
Reminds me of Aldon Smith. Not as big but the athleticism is there.

3) Dominique Easley-DE/DL
Florida
6-2 282
Out basically whole year
Great to stash for a year

3) (comp) Troy Niklas-TE
Oregon
6-7 270
32-498-5

CATCHING TE!
-comparable to Gronk
-very athletic
-Vance McDonald is a great blocker..but he seems to disappear on passing downs.

4) (via Titans) Chris Borland-LB
Wisconsin
5-11 248

2013-111 tackles, 4 sacks
2012-107 tackles, 4.5 sacks
2011-136 tackles, 2.5 sacks

-Mayock calls him a "sawed off Luke Kuechly
-He's an animal. Covers alot of room.
-Hopefully Bowman is back sooner rather then later..but you never know.
-Will compete with Moody and Lemonier

4) Stanley Jean Baptiste-CB
Nebraska
6-3 220
4 ints, 41 tackles
-Big corner..has all the intangibles. All he needs to do is give %100.

5) Antone Exum-CB
Virginia Tech
6-1 224
Did not play in 2013
2012--- 47-5 ints
Same as Jean - Baptiste. Has the potential.

6) Corey Linsley-C
Ohio State
6-3 298
Very mobile and strong Center. Has played every position on the O-Line. I know Kilgore is supposedly the Center of the future..but who knows..Harbaugh loves competition.

7) (via Saints) hopefully traded away

7) (via panthers) hopefully traded away

7) (via Colts) hopefully traded away

Lots of backfield support and only one WR. I think we will end up getting at least 2 WRs. We can always use fast linebackers. I think Dline is pretty settled but we also need a OG/C/Tackle. We need help on the oline. But thanks for the efforts.
I like some of the players you got (most actually), but I think you're a bit optimistic with how far they'll drop.
Roby and Buccanon seem to suck at Senior Bowl big time. Easley, similar to Lattimore, has a nasty injury history. Would not take him before the 4th. Not a fan of taking an OLB on day 2; With Aldon, Brooks, Skuta and Lemonier we got plenty of them.
I dont know about the TE in the 3rd round.

I'm down with the DBs though I think that two of them are enough. Exum can play Safety as well so I would prefer him.

I think Roby's biggest problem at the Senior Bowl is that he's not there...
I wouldnt mind this at all. Maybe one more possession receiver in the later rounds.. Cody Hoffman??

You are right. I misread something.
Ummm how did we get the titans 4th? Would take another reciever instead of the TE, didn't see enough of Vance yet to give up already. I'd go with a return specialist there, d anthony Thomas if there or Dri Archer maybe. Other than that love this draft
W received the Titans 4th when trading down with them the pick up Carradine

No. The Niners got the Titans 3rd rd pick. You have an extra 4th rounder in your mock.
Amazing how everyone's suddenly going crazy for Seattle's size/speed/don't worry about character/coach 'em up model. Seems like every other post is saying we have to match up with and learn from Seattle's "length". Huh ?

Haven't we spent a decade destroying the Raiders for that model ?

Calm down chaps, they succeeded with all of the one year deals for above average players, gambling the house for one year and coming up trumps.

They're not the how-to-succeed model. Not yet at least.
After watching some more tape, I would rather the niners take Allen Robinson over Davante Adams if they are both available.
