Other team's needs and our 2014 draft

Assuming we keep our five picks in the top three rounds + our extra comp pick, I can definitely see us going CB, S, G, DE, and WR, not necessarily in that order.

The defensive back picks are obvious. I think we will be practically rebuilding our secondary. I only expect us to have Chris Culliver (last year of his deal), Eric Reid, Eric Wright (either a starter or the #3 corner), and possibly Carlos Rogers next season. I'm not going to rule Rogers returning out until we are further into this season.

In terms of receiver, we might be ok if Anquan Boldin continues his high level of play and we extend him. If that were to happen, I'm comfortable with having Boldin, Michael Crabtree (last year of his deal), Quinton Patton, and Johnathan Baldwin if he shows enough growth. Then if we were to draft a receiver early, I hope it would be someone who has some speed and can return kicks/punts.

We can sign a veteran for cheap to backup and be a swing tackle. They also could be going after a guard since Goodwin probably doesn't return and either Looney or Kilgore will be in the starting lineup. I'd also like to have a guard that could push Snyder. The only reason why I have DE on the list as a high pick because of the youth movement going on.

Seems like a pretty stacked roster, even accounting for the many holes we will have.

The quarterback competition didn't conclude in Jacksonville at the end of the preseason.

Blaine Gabbert got the start in Week 1, but he earned no believers in the Jaguars' embarrassing 28-2 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
He suffered another injury to his throwing hand as well, an issue that will sideline him against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.

Enter Chad Henne, only a little sooner than expected. The veteran said this week he hopes to play well enough to keep the starting job.

Gabbert ran out of rope in Jacksonville the moment the prior regime walked out the door. If Henne can move the offense in Oakland, don't expect him to move back to the bench.

I think Gabbert will be out soon in Jacksonville, hes just not putting it together there. I think a change of scenery should do him some good like its doing for Alex Smith.

Manziel has fallen to me, Aaron Murray is now in my top 32. Love how he has shown up so far.

I have Boyd, and Wakins high, also Lee. I dont blame Lee for his stock possibly dropping, it's his lack of a good QB, and Kiffin is a horrible HC.

Debating my RB rankings overall, I like OU's Damien Williams, Oregon's DeAnthony Thomas, Baylor's Lache Seastrunk, and Arizona's Ka'Deem Carey.

WR movement, Paul Richardson and Allen Robinson are now in my rankings. Moncrief is higher now that I looked him up.

Man, you don't know how bad I want the 9ers to draft Aaron Murray, no way they would and I don't think he fits in the 9ers offense. I think Murray would flourish under Sean Payton or in Gary Kubiaks offense. I'm gonna say Murray is a 2nd round pick, no way he falls any further.

I agree. I like him a lot. Probably a 2nd rd guy when all said and done. But just love the way he is playing. Murray would be great to build around IMO. If Teddy stays in College, and Jags get top pick, he could go 33rd to Jags, would be the worst situation, but would be likely starter.

The Jets gave up 4 more sacks for a total of 9 in two games.

But, at least two of them looked like they were on the quarterback.

I kind of feel bad for Tampa Bay fans, Freeman is good enough that you can't sit him, but lousy enough that he won't take you anywhere you want to go...its like being stuck in purgatory.

If I remember correctly, purgatory is doing time in prison--you eventually get out and go to heaven.
