David Wilson is a first round talent imo but its not that big a need and theres better value in the latter rounds. Plus next years draft is stacked at RB we could just wait till next year.

Wilson is a top 15 talent, IMO and would give the 49ers an electric RB who can be a true #1 for several years to come. He has already added 7pds of muscle since the season ended and is at about 210pds. He can easily end up being a 220pd RB without losing much speed.
i agree with you and rb being a high priority this offseason, and sense we have a near complete roster, we should go BPA. That being siad, and I know im in the minority but I like Lamar Miller a lot, and would much rather draft him at 30.

BTW No way I want a RB back at 30. At least suggest trading down if you want a RB.

I would not be shocked at all if we draft a RB early if we can get a genuine three down type who can catch out of the backfield. Realistically speaking Frank only has one year left in him - anything more is a bonus. A genuine replacement can sit behind him for that year and take over with Hunter afterward.
I really don't see us drafting a WR early any more; TE perhaps, but with Crabtree, Moss, Ginn (for returns) and Manningham locks to dress in gamedays, where would a high pick enter the equation? A third RB to make a genuine committee would be far more useful.
That's on the offensive side. Of course I wouldn't be shocked if we grab a d-back with our first either.

barely a #1 RB anymore? really? lol.....we also have hunter...i wouldnt mind picking someone up in the later rounds to replace Dixon. RB is not a need for now, we definitely need a WR

I'm down for a RB. Gore wasn't 100 in the playoffs and has had trouble finishing seasons out for years now. We could use another guy not only in case of a gore injury but to preserve him over the course of the season so that he is healthy when we need him most. We all know how much playing in the postseason meant to Gore and though he came through in the Saints game, I can't help but think he'd done more against New York if he wasn't so banged up.

No Bueno.........Don't think the Niners would ever draft a RB in the 1st round. See Gore, Hunter, Dixon.
I'm thinking they take one in the 4th this year.
Fleener, Hill, maybe Zeitzer, but I think they like Kilgore.

We need to draft a rb. I don't think it would be a bad move. Some of you guys want fleener when we have davis. Why not wilson with an old gore?
