I don't think we need a speed WR. Ted Ginn had a very interesting game. Everyone will remember the horrendous blunder that cost Smith his perfect game (not to mention it was a huge blunder at that stage in the game), but let's be honest, random drops can happen to just about anyone.

Aside from that play, Ginn had his most complete game as a WR. Alex really zoned in on him for a series or two and I recall him making at least one relatively spectacular sideline grab. To top it all off, he is one of the fastest players in the league.

When the offseason comes, I really hope the front office prioritizes their free agent dollars toward the WR issue (like, re-signing Edwards, Ginn, and Morgan immediately) so they can prioritize their draft resources elsewhere.

I think secondary (CB or S), OL, and DL are all basically even in terms of where we could use some developmental talent. I hope to see our first three picks address those three areas, depending on which players seem to fall in the draft. You know sitting there in the 30-32 range, there will be someone on the board who is "dropping." If it's a guard or center or corner or safety or nose tackle or end, I say grab him. Heck, I'd trade up if DeCastro was there in the mid 20s.

i like ginn only as a returner, he doesnt run great routes and his bad hands will show up. let him focus on return duties only and hopefully the eagles let desean test free agency, if ginn is to play wr its only during hail marys

I probably tend to agree with you about Ginn, but I for one am intrigued to see his progress throughout the season. I still remember his rave WR reviews from training camp. And in our first game opening up with the pass, his routes were an important part of the game plan.

I really like Michael Floyd, but I don't think he will be there at 26-32. We may need to shift our focus to a Dwight Jones, Jeff Fuller, Nick Toon, or Greg Childs type of player.

A lot of solid wide receiver can be found in later rounds. I would like to see the 9ers go after a CB early. Their own FA will determine most of the needs but 1-2 WR, a FS, DL and OLB.

Since DeCastro will likely be way off the board before we pick. We need to continue adding to the defense. That's a lot more important than a WR in the first and second round.

Man I can't wait for the draft, and hope to see the best available CB fall to us, I swear that's gotta be our 1st pick. As of right now, I think our offense is fine....seriously, I just think they need more time with the playbook. So back to defense and upgrading our #2 spot at CB. I think this years stock at CB is gonna be rich, especially if and when Juniors start to declare. CB that I think could fall to us and most likely beat out Tarrell Brown or Shawntae Spencer for the #2 spot:

1. Alfonzo Dennard - May drop due to missing 3 games with a leg injury.

2. Chase Minnifield - Numbers are down, QB's hardly throw his way.

3. Casey Hayward - Ballhawk, not sure how far he would slide, but, with Juniors declaring and this being a stacked CB draft I think he would fall somewhere in the 2nd I hope.

4. Donnie Fletcher - Certainly has the size to fit in with our defense, but not sure about his speed, look a lot more like a Cover 2 CB.

5. Coryell Judie - Seems to have some pretty good ball skills, and if I'm not mistaken he returns kicks and punts.

Wouldn't surprise me to see us take a FS first. R Smith should be gone, M Williams will be gone, and Goldson is not resigned. Even if Goldosn is resigned we still need depth and can add better talent in nickel and dime packages.

So you think that all those players were stupid picks? At that time, they may have been on the top of the board for those teams. How do you know? The Bills definitely needed a RB because Jackson hadn't emerged yet. The Patriots needed a RB to replace an aging Corey Dillon. Indy hasn't had a dominant RB since Edge left so the Brown pick made some sense. Gonzales and Hughes were depth picks that fit the profile of the guys they were supposed to backup. Bottom line, each pick in the draft is a crap shoot.

we're probably gonna lose a bunch of dudes to free agency.
