Colts will end up with the #1 pick. Grab Luck, let him sit behind Payton for a few years then the Colts will continue to be contenders for another 10+ years.

They'd have one hell of a choice to make. They're an old football team with depleting talent across the board. Peyton still has a good 3 years left. They can package Luck and get a Hell of alot in return.
Personally I think Miami ends up with Luck though. They're just more likely to quit.

Indy, Miami, and KC are the three teams I think are competing for Luck

idk i don't think their strength of schedule would get them the no1 pic so, unless they finish with the worst record i think they'll miss out on luck (providing no trades)

can the colts afford Payton with his new contract plus what Luck and his agents will be asking for the next 5 years without hurting the team?

Rookie scale solves all.

I doubt the Chiefs draft him if they get the first pick because they have Matt Cassel locked up til 2014

Cassel has been turning the ball over far too much to look like a franchise guy at this point and Haley could very well be gone next year.
New coach + 1st overall pick generally means new QB.
I don't know the details of Cassel's contract, but I doubt it would prevent them from taking Luck.
