Not down with Locker in the 1st.

When we can probably get him in the 2nd.

I say CB 1st.

then locker.

Im good with Titus Young. I also like Jeff Maehl in the 3rd. for a slot WR.

Locker doesn't get out of the top 10. 2nd round? ZERO chance. ESPN might think he's slipped, but I promise you, scouts are still very high on him.

Locker is the 4th rated QB on ESPN.

I don't know what scouts on teams will say. This is my only source.

His stats have dipped this year under his 2nd year in a pro system. He is often erratic in the pocket and holds the ball too long. They compared him to Alex Smith on SI. Thats from another source (Mike Mayock).

I don't see 4 QBs going in round 1. It doesn't happen that often. I don't think it will this year.

I think Gabbert, Newton, and Mallet go in Round 1. Mallet is iffy to me.

If Colt McCoy can go to round 3 and Jimmy Clausen in round 2.

I can definitely see this happening.

And you know this how?
And where does this rap about Locker having ZERO talent on his team come from? Washington beat Nebraska with almost no help from Locker. They cant be that bad. Jay Cutler played on a Vanderbilt team that was MUCH MUCH worse than the 2010 Washington team and he never looked as bad as Locker has this season. I dont understand how a guy who cant move the ball in 2 different chances against nebraska and a few other teams this year, is an elite prospect and in your words, a SUPERBOWL QB. It makes no sense.

Have you watched him closely? He has issues, sure, mostly I'm worried about him putting too much zip on short passes, and having awkward movement running play action, however....his footwork is superb, his running ability is unbelievable for a QB from a speed, power, and vision standpoint. He accelerates like no QB I've ever seen. He has the arm to make every single throw, and often displays ridiculous accuracy. He is also clutch, making big plays when they count, and playing his best in the biggest games. He is inconsistent, does move out of the pocket too much, and is very raw. The biggest difference between Locker and Alex, however, is that Locker is a man, while Alex Smith, even 6 years into his pro career, is still not a man. Locker controls the huddle, pumps up the players around him, and is a superb general on the field. Have you seen Alex Smith in a locker room post-game? THAT is why Alex is a looser. Nice kid, but as a leader he gets a ZERO. Alex was also developed by one moron after another, which ultimately sealed his fate. If we had Singletary I wouldn't touch Locker, but Harbaugh is the wild card in all this. He can take a kid with Locker's skill set and make him elite. Bring back Nolan and I change my pick. As for the talent around him, the defense played amazingly in the Nebraska game (although some of the plays Nebraska was calling on offense were truly painful). Otherwise the talent wasn't there. Watch the games! His receivers get constantly dominated by DBs, and are never where they're supposed to be. They're horrible...pure trash. Not one of those guys would even get a look in camp. No TE, no worthwhile RB, and the entire defense geared to stop him. Still, the team wins a bowl game. Watch him, the kid is TALENTED. From a talent and intangibles standpoint, he is elite.

ESPN knows nothing. Ever. Read some decently reputable scouts. Online scouts aren't amazing, but some offer good insight. CBS Sports' Rob Rang has discussed him quite a bit, and I've been following his analysis of Locker all year. Also, please provide the link to Mayock comparing Locker to Smith. I don't buy it. Plus, Mayock recently has been talking nonsense. Ever since his "Rober Ayers is the best player in the draft" stage, I have a hard time taking him seriously.
Say no to Locker! Passing up on Prince will be a huge mistake. Especially when we can get Stanzi in the later rounds.

ditto, i like Prince in the 1st and maybe Locker in 2nd
if you really want to go after locker i say we try to trade down and get in the 15-20 range. we thus pick up an extra pick and go after him where i feel drafting locker is ok for the price.
Yeah imagine if we got Nadi and still drafter prince at 7!!!!
I think Locker could def fall deep into the first
I like the 2nd round trade!

I like Locker but I just think Niners can trade down and still get him. At #7 you have to go CB/OLB/DE.
This is becoming my biggest pet peeve, people thinking that we can somehow fix our QB issues with Stanzi or Dalton or some guy in rd 7. Let's try this: what 3 positions dictate whether you are a winning team? And the answer...drumroll...quarterback! Quarterback! Quarterback! Singletary has brainwashed you all. Think Walsh, not Singletary! Bring the QB back to SF! In this scenario we are fixing the secondary by shifting Nate and signing Nnamdi, we'll be OK. Has anyone watched Stanzi? He's not that good. If he were...we would be talking about him in the first. If 32 teams pass on a QB, and 6 pass on him twice, I would say it's fair to assume that this QB seeing success would be a surprise, rather than the expectation. Unless everyone on this board is so brilliant, that they see something on YouTube that GMs around the league havent noticed through hours Nx hours of legitimate tape study. Locker is an elite talent, with elite intangibles, and could receive elite coaching from Harbaugh. He's not there yet, I know, but watch a game...you'd be hard pressed to find many issues with his game. Don't be a stat/YouTube GM.

Secant trade down because I don't see the Titans passing in Locker. He's much more highly regarded than this board realizes
