So I haven't seen any Hawaii games except this last bowl game, but my goodness this guy jumped out to me as extremely talented. Watching some vids of him only confirmed that fact. He is a monster. He will be a sure-fire starter in the NFL. He has 1889 yards this year, over 100 ahead of the next highest. Its Hawaii, so not the strongest competition but still a huge number. Salas has probably 4.45-4:50 speed, a big NFL-sized body 6'2", incredible hands, the power to break tackles, eagerness to run people over, and a little bit of juke to him. With the wealth of potential top receivers in this draft, a 4th round pick might be possible and good value. I would take him way earlier. Highlights: I love the play at 3:53, the way he smoothly grabs the ball out of the air and then ploughs through the defense. Notice the YACs. For those who want burners-note Rice and Taylor were not burners, but were very good at getting yards after the catch.

They had the "Barry Sanders Twitch", they could shake the one guy they needed to and get those YACs.

Morgan and Crabs suck.

If Salas gets drafted by us he will be just as frustrated as Crabtree that his college QB was more accurate than anyone on our team. Crabs will be fine if we can get someone who can deliver the ball and a coach that wants to use the WRs to catch rather than block.

ok Moniz is no where near as accurate as alex, Moniz wont even sniff the NFL as a qb.

Salas is awesome but we should also be looking at Pilares who was also a awesome slot reciever for UH too and was more explosive then Salas imo and could be had as an undrafted FA or in the 7th

I think Pilares brings added value because he could be a RB as well. He played so well at slotback that people forget he started out in the backfield.

After watching his highlights and a recorded game i have here at home, i think that SALAS is worth a late 3 round or an early 4th... he's not a homerun kinda guy, but he'll have the best pair of hands on our team if we draft him..

i'd hate to see this guy in a COLT uniform, and i hope that the RAMS aren't eyeing him to be Bradford's security blanket..

Yeah man.. I hate the thought but Salas would be a perfect fit with the Colts. And you know they'll draft one or two since Waynes getting older and everyone else is injury prone.

Im hoping Hines Ward 2.0. Salas isnt a burner by any means but he CAN run after the catch and isnt an easy tackle

u dont need to be fast in the NFL.. We've seen the likes of Cris Carter, Ed McCaffrey, and some guy name Jerry Rice..

The Jets drafted Al Toon while the Bengals drafted Eddie Brown ahead of Jerry Rice because of their speed.. and look what happened..

Dude has a knack for catching the ball at it's highest point and timing his jumps that looks like it should translate to the NFL. I like him and I wouldn't be mad if the brass took him on the 3rd day.

With us utilizing him we would have to also see how good he is as a run blocker (very important role as a WCO player).

the guy's knowledge for catching the ball reminds me of Arizona's Fitzgerald... this guy may just be he ultimate DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH kinda player in this draft..

Yea he still holds High School records as a RB, but he cut weight to be a WR I think he may be too small for the RB, but he could also be our Reggie Bush duel threat option.
