I think Hankerson did more to help Ponder look good than the other way around. Probably was already a 2nd/3rd rounder. If he kills it at the combine, he could sneak into the first (I'm biased. I just want the see Miami get back to first round dominance).

On another note, I like Von Miller, but I'm curious as to what will happen when tackles the caliber of a Joe Thomas, Jake Long, etc get their hands on him. I don't fear that he will be as unsuccesful as Manny Lawson has been, because is a much better and more natural pass rusher, but I don't see him dominating in the way that he has.

After watching, here is who I was impressed by.

Hankerson. In the WZ mock draft, I took him in the early 2nd with the Redskins pick. I think he has etched his way into the bottom of the first round. If he has a solid combine, I say he goes in the first.

Ponder. I was impressed that he had such nice timing throws on a short week of practice with guys he doesn't know. I think he is a solid 3rd rounder and could go in the 2nd.

Stanzi. He started off slow, but made some nice throws at the end. He has good command of the huddle and good football IQ. Someone will take him in the 2nd.

Miller. Did a lot to solidify his draft status as a top 10 pick. I am not so sure the 49ers will get a shot at him. IMO, I think his status will depend on how he and Quinn do at the combine. If he outshines Quinn, then we have not shot. Top 5 pick.

Powell. I thought he did a good job of finding running lanes and running behind his pads. Not sure what his status is, this is the first time I have watched him play.

Sherman. I liked his coverage. Don't know where he is projected.

Kerrigan. Didn't hurt his draft status.

Locke. For a small back, he gets some leverage behind his pads. Probably a late round pick, 5th or so.

O'Dowd. I thought he played well, might have raised his stock the way he played against the North's front DL.

I didn't get to watch any of the second half of the game, but I was really curious to see Kaepernick would do after that unlucky pick. I thought, in what little I saw of him in the first half, that he looked good on the field, in that he has good size and seemed to move comfortably and athletically around in the pocket.

But I don't see anyone talking about him now. How was his second half performance?

I thought he played well considering the circumstances the QB's deal with in
their preparation leading up to the game. He extended the play with his feet,
when the pocket collapsed. and didn't seemingly force any throws.

IMO, he played better than certain QB's rated higher, and I feel raised
his draft stock (pre combine), during the contest. He'll need work in various
aspects of the pro game, but I feel he has some tools.

Mayock (during the broadcast), spoke well of his play, and sees him being

I know he's a ways behind several of the other QBs in terms of development. But he has attributes that the other QBs don't and will never have. It seems like if Harbaugh really is the QB magic maker we all hope he is, then the best thing would be if he could take someone as big and athletic as Kaepernick and turn him into an accurate NFL passer.

If Kaepernick could become as accurate and intelligent a QB as Harbaugh's previous pupils, he'd be an absolute stud.

Regardless of where he's drafted or what a staff thinks of him, Kaepernick is a project. He has a high ceiling but he's a total project. Like him more than Locker though, Locker blows.

Agree

Kerrigan looked great. He had one play where he overpursued, but overall, he was awesome. Getting double teamed but still working his ass off.

All the North QBs had a rough start in the first half except Kaepernick who really impressed me. Stanzi and Locker looked better in the 2nd half. I was impressed with Stanzi's command of the huddle when he was running the no-huddle offense. Showed very good accuracy and pocket awareness. Locker showed zip on his passes and showed some accuracy on his throws, but Mayock stated exactly what I've been saying. Locker needs to fix his footwork when he plants his feet prior to the throw. It's really f**king up his throws.

Richard Sherman looked good and physical. Jalil Brown wasn't as physical as I had hoped. Burney looked pretty good too. Von Miller looked awesome at both end and linebacker. Cam Jordan started making some noise in the 2nd half. Hankerson looked very good.

And I take back some of the s**t I said about Christian Ponder. He looked very decent today and may have boosted his stock up to the 3rd round.

Demarcus Love is one who stood out in a bad way.

Was that #8 white guy on the North Ryan Whalen from Stanford?

I liked him in the limited time I saw him play. Looked good. Either get him in the late rounds, or sign him as an UDFA.

I was extremely impressed with phil taylor and bilal powell - thinkin a 2nd and 4th would be solid value.

QB - North

Locker: did little to put away fears about his accuracy issues and his play within the pocket. He's not a top 10 pick in my eyes, and there's no way I'd play him as a rookie either.

Stanzi: he is not a freakish athlete and doesn't possess a cannon or pinpoint accuracy, but boy is he a smart QB with a lot of intangibles that you like to see in a signal caller at the next level. The pocket awareness WHILE maintaining his eyes downfield stud out to me the most, seems to have a high football IQ, I feel more confident about him being a starter down the road than Locker.

Kaepernick: I think he was one of the biggest winners coming out of the Senior Bowl, he proved he's definitely mid-round worthy, he's a project, but he's gonna be a treat for a team that can stash him up as a 3rd QB and develop him for about 3 seasons. Think Nate David, but hopefully Kaep gets a chance for real and displays the work ethic he's had up to this point
