I like Houston's pick of Spiller. Their zone-scheme will fit perfectly for Spiller and now will rival Indy for top team in the AFC South (and Houston has a much better defense IMO, just need a safety). Good job TX9R!
I like your picks as well. realistically though, I don't think Spiller will be there for Houston, safety could be an option, a DT who can rush the passer is a big need too, but I think they'll target Lamar Houston from Texas in the 3rd. If Spiller isn't there, I think they trade back and take Dwyer. They WILL take a RB in the first 2 rounds one way or another.
I wouldn't be too surprised if he did. Only team I see picking him up would be Seattle, but they have so many problems on the OL and DL, they can pick up a decent RB in the second. Cleveland has seen hints of talent in Harrison, Pitt invested in Mendenhall, we have Gore, Denver has Moreno, and Spiller isn't a top 5 pick so rule out DET and Tampa. Besides, I think he fits better in a zone-blocking offense.
Seattle is where I have him pegged. Carroll wants a solid running game and sees his Bush in the pros staring him in the face. I think he takes an OT, then Spiller, then an OG in the second. Unless a Dlineman slips, but they rarely do.
I could definitely see that. Do you think Carroll will try to make a 3-4 defense up in Seattle? Or run a 4-3 with an Elephant similar to what we did with Haley?
I don't think he'd run a 3-4, I don't know that he ever has, and they don't really have any personnel in place to even try.
He ran a 3-4 in 2008 with Matthews Jr. and Cushings at OLB, and Malauga with someone I can't remember (lol) in the middle.
proposing a trade with Oakland
my first round (25th)
and a 6 round
for
Oaklands
2nd (39th)
and
3rd(69th)
values is almost exactly the same according to the chart
The jets would do this move because there is no immediate need for this team, but a few areas where Jets can improve on is having a slot receiver, draft a backup tackle/guard and also a safety regardless what happens to Rhodes
however none of these areas are worthy of a first round pick
and with no 3rd or 4th because of Braylon edwards trade, it's impossible for the Jets to grab any talent later in this DEEP draft. So the Jets would like to move down from first to 2nd and third.
Having said that, if Oakland is in the hands of Al davis he would probably call me and tell me that I am the one that needs help

Um, first you probably wanted to PM this to SacRock14 to see if he wanted this trade.
Second, if you did and he accepted, you should've PMed AB and KRS-1 since they're on the trade committee.

The Raiders are shocked and dismayed that the Jets would take these trade discussions public. We run a very professional organization and this puts us all in a bad light.
I sent a counter offer, PT. I think we can get something done.

Oh stop fooling yourselves, if the Jets can let tampering go open public, then why not trade talks!

Be that way. I'm down to do that deal above.
OAK receives: #25 pick and 6th round pick
NYJ receives: #39 pick and #69 pick
If ptinerocket is still down, this can be submitted for approval.

I have the next pick, so I'll stay out of it. But glad we're moving on.

Ok, i dont wanna be a bad guy, im one of the nicest posters here on the zone, and i try to give people enough time.
But this mock was going good, till the past 2 days. So, im making s decision.
If you are either not here, or can not be here, please please please pm me, krs-1 or teeohh, and we will make the pick for you.
Or if you arent here in sufficient time, then ill post in here and the majority will vote on the pick.
Again, im not trying or being a bad guy, I love these mocks, and hopefully after next sunday, we can start a 8 person(Division) mock.
Thanks everyone.

AB I think one of the 3 mods for this thread should make the pick.
That's my 2 cents.

Okay, is there ANY way we can get the picks in less than 12 hours each? I think 6 hours is plenty of time.
