I was one of those guys that knew Alex Smith was a HUGE mistake back in March of 05.
Over the last several years the 2 QB's I really wanted was Cutler and Sanchez.
But doesn't it seem like there are too many young QB's in the league right now?
Escpecially with Ryan, Flacco and Sanchez.
Anyone else fear that the league is due for a bad QB class...and of course the Niners will be picking one of them.
It just sucks watching your beloved team select the QB you don't want and constantly pass on the QB you do want....and man it has been a long time since I have been proven wrong on a young QB.
BTW, Tebow is the next guy that scares the hell outta me.

Depends on who declares and who we draft this year.
I don't believe there are bad QB "crops" (so to speak), only bad QB prospects. I do think that some years all the QB prospects go higher than they should, which makes them all look like busts and gives the impression of a bad year for QB's, though.

Maybe I don't understand your code. Are you calling Cutler bad? If so,
I think I disagree.

Sorry I am a little dense today. I see Bad or Good relates to the year.

His name is Nate Davis, read up on him, he will be here for a while, and will do great things for the 49ers. They will not spend a high pick on a QB this draft. Rest easy.

I guess I'll sleep better knowing that.

Basically my point is an odds thing...nothing else. If you look back at 10, 20, 30 years of history of 1st round QB's you should quickly see a pattern. In that pattern it is very rare that a string of QB's who go on to big things are selected in a row.
So in that very specific view point.......it does not bode well for the QB's following Ryan, Flacco and Sanchez....because history tells us you only get so many good QB's in a 3 year span
thats all. Just an observation.
The Long Looming Fear is purely mine...I developed it when the Niners selected Alex Smith. Because that is a Cleveland Browns type of blunder. And do you know what else the Browns are known to do? Pick the wrong years to draft a QB, and in that year pick the very worst one.

Nate Davis is gonna be a good quarterback for the 49ers.

Still far to early to make a judgement on Stafford/Sanchez right now. Stafford has shown some things but like the scouting report on him said, he's not a great decision maker and he's made a lot of bad ones so far.
Sanchez has got some hype, but the Jets success is far more a product of their defense and running game. He had the chance to shut the door on the Pats in the 4th the last week and all he did was hand the ball back to Brady. Lucky for the Jets Brady wasn't his usual self or else that game would have gone the other way. And against the Saints he looked like garbage.
