Early Season Needs Mock

I was thinking along the lines of what YayArea posted, grabbing the Safety and WR with the two first picks. FA - Kirk Cousins, QB; Justin Pugh, OG 1. Derwin James, FS 2. Courtland Sutton, WR 2. Billy Price, C 3. Kalen Ballage, RB 3. Bradley Chubb, DE Needs addressed QB - duh OL - I'm looking at the line as Staley, Garnett, Price, Pugh, Brown. Fusco and Kilgore are free agents and neither are particularly strong. Pugh is experienced in zone blocking and Price adds much needed toughness at C. DB - Dontae Johnson and Eric Reid are free agents. James is the next Ronnie Lott and I have him slotted as FS. Ward can also play FS, slot or outside CB, so that gives Saleh some flexibility depending on if they bring back DJ and/or Reid. Financially they should be able to bring back both depending on the Cousins contract. I don't think Witherspoon or Redmond will be ready in a year to compete for starter roles, so I see both free agents brought back. With James on board the DB group looks strong. DL - Lynch and Carradine are free agents. Dumervil is an aging vet. I think they bring back Tank and let Lynch go. Blair and Chubb are your rotational DEs, with Chubb a possibility at LEO.

Can't see Chubb or, to a slightly lesser extent, Sutton available where you have em slotted

I'll tell you this, if the draft did go down like this, we definitely upgraded our team in major way! Fitzpatrick over Derwin for me, tho

For free safety I agree. James needs to be in the box. If we let Reid walk and sign Ward long term then James makes a little more sense. But we would still have Tartt so maybe not.

Just to throw this out there we have no need for safety we have more depth at that position than any position we have

Honest question. Would you let Reed Walk and would you sign Ward long term as of today. Because I couldn't. Reed & tart have been special. I haven't seen anything from Ward at safety

Honestly yes. Ward won't be an expensive long term answer at Safety. He has the range. We can't have incredible players at every position. I think Ward is a good role player who can get more comfortable back there if he can stay healthy. Tartt needs more PT it's evident so Reid is gone. Won't get a complete pick for him due to us being hopefully aggressive in FA
