Some kickers take time to become automatic. Gould didn't start off as the kicker everyone remembers.

Gould came into the league without a strong leg; he didn't attempt his first field goal of 50 or more yards until his third season, and he didn't make his first from that distance until his fifth year.

Moody made a 57 yarder in his second game as a rookie. And made a few more throughout his first year. Including the SB.

Gould started somewhat slowly in 2005, making 21 of 27 field goals (77.8%), including 3 of 8 from 40 yards or longer.

Moody was 84% his first year. And made 6 of 9 from 40+.( 2 of 3 from 55+)

Moody has made some clutch kicks already in his very young career. Not even counting today. So, he has it in him.

But, He's also had some bad misses, at critical times, that make you wonder. So, Im not gonna get mad at fans for feeling the way they do. Also, taking into account he was a 3rd rounder. Had he been a late rounder or UDFA, fans wouldn't be as mad as they are.

Keep in mind, though, he didn't have a choice where a team drafted him. That's on Kyle and Lynch.

Moody always has the "oh s**t" face. Always looks completely overwhelmed.

He may have talent and a big leg, but can't trust this guy, not clutch at all (barely even made the GW kick today) and has proven when he has to have he most times he misses

When they find out Moody kicked the game winner.

Someone posted on this thread that he looked like his plant leg was angled poorly. If that's true it may be that he was sub-consciously favoring the ankle sprain. Those misses were really way off and even the game winner wasn't down the middle. For a guy that's been pretty accurate so far this year that tells me he wasn't right. Maybe it was the layoff or maybe it was the injury. Whatever it was I think he'll get it corrected.
