Coming up on free agency, could very well be a decent veteran backup. Has experience playing for several teams and did a reasonably decent job for Cleveland this season, playing in a similar style of offense under Stefanski. But would he sign to be 3rd stringer/practice squad guy. He probably could be a number 2 somewhere

Brissett should get a solid #2 QB type contract, but I think the 9ers draft a QB in the late rounds again to serve as the #2 or #3 back up. If they do sign a veteran back up, its gonna be a Nate Sudfeld type tier a name that will disappoint most 9er fans.

That's the problem with a lot of these guys. Easily #2 guys. You'd have to get a Nate Sudfeld or PJ Walker to be a QB 3. Personally, I'd love to have a seasoned vet as that guy, but not sure if Matt Ryans is a possibility.

think they draft a QB mid rounds to develop and either Lance is cashed in next year or if Lance works then Purdy is traded following season.

Think they draft a QB in the 5th ( Dorian Thompson-Robinson) and Sign Sudfeld or if Lance is traded I can see Matt Ryan being the back up to Purdy.

I'd love a guy like Brissett, but wouldn't he be a top option as a number 2 QB?

I was going to post the moment before I read your comment. DTR has some excellent skills and is mobile and yet elusive. He's a 4-year starter and progressed each year.
