WR Jakeem Grant - Burner/Returner

Definitely an underrated guy that I expected to have a lot more success in the NFL in the passing game. In return game, he is already great. But I think he has alot of untapped potential as a burner, which Shanahan has proven to get the most out of. I think Shanahan can do with Grant like what he did with Goodwin and Gabriel. Even if we doesnt pan out as a receiver, he will still provide us with an electric return man. I found this Mini Movie on him and it made me like him even more. We absolutely need a punt returner and a speedy receiver that can go deep. Unfortunately I think we will have to draft one because even though he won't be that expensive we need all the money we can get for retaining our own for agents and possibly upgrading in other areas.

I really wish Dante Pettis worked out because he broke the all-time record for punt returns in college

and then looked not only scared but useless as a returner.

Yeah but I think it would be worth the $2.5M, which I think he will get. I would prefer Grant over Sherfield and chances are that we need to sign another FA since we will only have 3 wide receivers going into the draft.

I know. He looked so promising at first but he just wasnt a real football player

The best free agent alternative for a KR. There are at least 5 potential draft picks with KR/PR ability, too. A must get for the Niners this offseason.

Yep. Wouldnt mind if we double dipped in this area too. Pick up Jakeem Grant on a modest $2.5 - $4M deal and use a draft pick on a speedster as well. After the combine, we can see that there are ton of them in this draft. However, I think Grant would be the next Goodwin and Taylor Gabriel. Very underrated as a receiver.

Would have been a good signing, I damn well hope they have a plan in place during the draft to fill the massive void we have with a returning specialist
