Bridgewater to Denver

Carolina has traded Teddy Bridgewater to Denver for a 6th round pick. I hope he does well there.

Didn't some idiot try saying Lynch offered Carolina two 2nd round picks for him?

Also read that Denver is still in play for a QB tomorrow night.

6rh rounder? Should have brought him in as backup to jimmy g and kept all their draft picks.

no argument on giving up a 6th rounder for a PLACE HOLDER.. no argument at all..

but, was it not a better move for Denver to have traded a higher pick for GRAPPY or DARNOLD??

Teddy Bridgewater was traded to the Denver Broncos on April 28, 2021. As part of the trade Bridgewater agreed to a revised contact. The contract is one year $10 million fully guaranteed. Carolina will pay the $7 million signing bonus as part of the trade. Denver will be responsible for the remaining $3 million in salary.

Good trade for Denver.

Maybe. I am not sure.... If that was the plan, I am not sure why they wouldn't just go with Drew Lock and the Rookie Qb on the roster. I could be wrong though.

I can see the Broncos trading with the Falcons for #4 overall. Lock will be included in that trade.

Falcons trade back, get a developing QB behind Matt Ryan, and still in a position to take Surtain, Slater, Parsons, etc. It's a great move if they can pull it off.

It would make sense if you were planning on trading lock. I just don't think he is going to have much value right now, especially since the Broncos would be trying to get rid of a player so young and the fact there is a lot of depth in the second round at QB.

It makes more sense to me that the Broncos are going to go with Lock. They trade for Bridgewater for a backup and another option to Lock if he struggles. Why trade Lock who is young and could have potential, for practically nothing. To replace him with Bridgewater. It doesn't make sense to me.

I don't think you get my point for why this could make sense for Denver. You acquire Bridgewater a late round pick. You use Lock + #9 + 3rd rounder for Trey Lance or Mac Jones. Either one of them has more upside than Drew Lock. And you have Bridgewater as the bridge QB to let Lance/Jones learn behind him to start the season.

That's a great value trade because you don't have to give up too many picks, you get rid of a QB to a team that is in a cap crunch for a few years with no developing QB behind their starter, and you have a good transition to a high impact QB in 2022.
