Carson Wentz traded to the Colts

I'm just happy Rivers is done. Hasn't been a higher rated QB that was the most boring to watch.

The Colts got raped. They took on Wentz atrocious salary PLUS they gave up high draft capital. They would have better served moving up the draft to select a QB. And the dude can't stay healthy.

The salary isn't really all that atrocious. And there wasn't any high draft capital. A 3rd and a conditional 2nd is not a lot to trade for a QB that was playing at an NFL MVP level just a couple years ago.

If Reich is able to get Wentz back to the level that he had him playing at in Philly, they will have traded a late 1st and a late 3rd for an NFL franchise QB under 30.

Re: Eagles fans being pissed.

Eh....I wouldn't go that far. The reports of him being a total cancer made most want him out in favor of Hurts. They wanted more compensation though.

Change my mind.

Talent is worth more than win % with a really good roster.

Wentz just went for pick #84 and a guaranteed future 2nd that actually has a very decent chance to become a 1st.

I really don't think pick #96 (the Patriots' comp 3rd from losing Brady) is an unreasonable ask. Contract for Wentz is ever-so-slightly cheaper over the next two years, but more guaranteed (Jimmy can be cut after 2021 for nothing. Not the case for Wentz). His peak was in 2017. Just like Jimmy. Both QB's have been hurt/benched.

Asking for an even lower 3rd and NO future compensation seems fair, but maybe it's just my homerism.

I don't buy a lot of that stuff. He's been there for years, was regarded as a good teammate and highly supportive, even with the awkward Foles situation and suddenly only after this season all this stuff came out? Howie Roseman is a POS that has done that Baalke "leak and throw dirt at everyone" deal for years.

If he stays healthy, I wouldn't be shocked one bit if Wentz goes out there and plays well when given an actual OL and some good targets to throw to.

Now comes the question that matters. Do the Eagles plan to go with Jalen Hurts this season or do they plan on drafting a QB at 6?

Hurts was drafted by Doug Pederson so the new coach may not want Hurts.

True but there so far over the cap a trade back would seriously help and Hurts salary is super friendly. Unless they are planning on dealing him and other players. But they are the eagles so you never know.

They gotta stick with Hurts, give him weapons. Even if he doesn't have a lot of film on him he showed he can play. Give him a wr or oline

Jimmy for #6.

#6&#12 to the jets.

Draft fields or Wilson.

Simple.
