I'd give'em a 5th round pick and that's it.
They need to do this if we can't get AB. I'm sure Shanny had a plan for him when he was watching his film. Ross (and Pettis) put up good numbers in Washington despite poor QB play by Browning. I'd give up a 4th for him.

"That's kind of a crazy stat to have a third of all your catches be touchdowns," said quarterback Jeff Driskel. "He does a good job down there in tight of making contested catches and getting open. He's definitely somebody we look for down in the red zone, but also out in the open field as well. We expect him to continue to improve and produce more game after game."

With four touchdowns in the last five games, the Bengals are hoping Ross' development means he can become a non-Green red zone threat that has been missing since tight end Tyler Eifert scored 13 touchdowns in 13 games back in his Pro Bowl season of 2015.

In 2016, Ross had 51 receptions that went for a first down or a touchdown, which ranked second in the Pac-12. His 17 receiving touchdowns were tied for second most in Pac-12 history. He scored a touchdown on 20 percent of his offensive touches last season -- the highest percentage among Power 5 conference players with at least 80 touches.

And Ross was part of a Washington offense that scored a touchdown on 75.9 percent of its red-zone drives, which tied Florida State for the second-best red-zone efficiency among Power 5 schools. Pittsburgh was best at 76.3 percent. Ross himself led the FBS with 12 receiving touchdowns on red-zone plays in 2016.
Would love to have him. If there's anybody in the league that would utilize him and that speed It's Shanahan. Him, Goodwin, Pettis, Kittle and McKinnon all on the field is like a turbo cheat code lol
I would imagine that Shanahan could maximize John Ross's ability. It might be a good move. Imagine dbs trying to cover Ross, Goodwin, Pettis and Kittle.

But whatever. I'll let the 49ers brain trust do their thing.

He's a solid backup option if we fail to acquire a legit #1 like OBJ or AB. Hell, if I'm calling Cincinnati I'm first asking about the availability of AJ Green. If Lynch strikes out on the big name WR, then it makes more sense to trade a 4th or lower for Ross than pay a ton of money to Tyrell Williams.

for sure man
Guy looks like another scrub. I'm sure Shanahan will love his speed. Not sure about his other intangibles though.

This is how I feel.
Id rather go after Tj Maxx
A 1st round pick looking to be shopped after 2 years who isn't able to excel with AJ Green on the other side? Hard pass.
Cool another midget speedster....
