You can acquire those through the draft you know? [See Baker Mayfield, Saquon, etc]

Plot twist. What if the Giants want the #2 pick because they want Bosa themselves, not a QB. Gettleman seems like the type of GM that devalues the QB position.

Teams regularly win without top WRs. Very hard to win without some form of pass rush. Not to mention 5 years of cheap team control on Bosa.
#2 is a no for me.

The more I think about it, the more giving up pick #36 and next year's 1st for OBJ makes sense. That's basically just a little less than what the Bears gave up for Khalil Mack.

Nope.
This years 2nd and 3rd round pick plus next years 1st.
Can't say no to that.

If I was the GM I would have drafted him and we wouldn' be having this convo

There's always going to be outliers (which is why the first day of tampering and FA are pretty nuts and not wise to invest in annually). But even in your example, NY got a good productive player at a premier position and then traded him for a top 6 G based on team needs. But yeah...was not a fan of that Vernon move (another day 1 reset-the-market move).

Mack is a much more impactful player. Especially over the last 2 years.

Which is why giving up just a little less than what the Bears gave up would make sense. I doubt the Giants take it though.
