Poor kid has the injury bug hit him hard. I pulling for him to make the team.

The depth behind Aiyuk and Samuel is not that great. Sanu is okay but Niners are probably carrying 6 WR. If Hurd is healthy I dont see him getting cut. Thats a big IF because he has had 2 serious injuries in his 2 years here. But if he is healthy , I think he is one of the top 6 WR.

I'm familiar with how much sh*t players get around here when they're constantly injured...especially in a case like this where we really haven't seen the player on the field outside of preseason.

Personally I'm not going to talk s**t about a kid trying to live his dream while trying to make our team better. I don't have high expectations just because he's had 2 tough injuries and 2 years of no football with no NFL experience as a result but I'm sure as hell pulling for him.

Let things play out and we'll see if he's one of the sad stories of guys who never show what they can do cuz of injuries or maybe he surprises us and shows out...more likely something in the middle.

Maybe Hurd will be the next Jimmie Ward. He used to be Jimmy "Hospital" Ward but seemed to be healthy over the past couple of seasons and played at a high level.

Reports are he's full go for training camp

fingers crossed we get to see him actually play football. Kinda feel for the guy.

I believe Shanny envisioned a Jerick McKinnon style role for Hurd. Only in reverse. Hurd being a WR that can occasionally line up in the backfield. Taking advantage of a defence from being able to substitute.

Unfortunately these schematic plans fail to materialize due to injuries.

I'd put more $$ on Hurd than Jimmy this season. Just my opinion though
