Aaron Colvin

lol you guys are on it. I was coming here to post this. Love it

My concern with Colvin is that he's not an outside CB. I'm not sure how he's fare

Nice. We just lie and tell him he'll compete outside and then in reality, he can compete with K'Wuan Williams and used in dime.
IMO, nickel is WAAAAAY harder than outside, considering the proximity to the sideline limiting the WRs' options. Most nickels who can't make it outside are midgets

It all depends. Patrick Robinson was awful on the outside. Then he went to the eagles and was the best nickel corner in the league. Had his best year in the nfl as well.

He may do well. But his proficiency on the outside is an unknown.

Meh, he played outside in college. It ain't as drastic as some make it out to be and like the above, slot is harder

I can't remember but didn't A.J Bouye start out as a slot corner?

It's not about the difficulty of outside/inside. It's what that particular player excels at. Just because outside "may" be easier doesn't mean someone will be better at it.

And i wouldn't say it's harder or easier. It's just different.
Did he play slot or outside on Jags?

Wasn't he the one Brady kept picking on AFCCG?

Okay I'll just speak for myself and from my own personal experience playing outside was a lot easier than covering the slot. But you're right in that he may not be better at it

I don't know BUT

That is an excellent question!

It tells me a lot about the guy [if true]

This. Scheme matters alot, too. Some guy can only consistently play well at zone OR man. Sometimes it's technique. Some guys who are good at off-man can't press, for example.
