Hopefully Robinson is smart enough to consider that it'd be better for him longterm to take less money to come to a team where he has a good chance of putting up big numbers.

But most players want to put up big numbers to get payed. So your saying to take less pay now to hopefully get payed down the road.

Yea, take less money now and get paid down the road by putting up big numbers with JG/Shanahan rather than going to a poor offensive team that is willing to pay more now and putting up mediocre numbers.

Why would we give less money than anyone else when we've got the cap room?

No way Lynch can lose in this one. Not sure how you can fail bringing this dude in.

Lol and the guys we signed all contributed and had a pretty good year outside of Malcolm Smith who got injured in training camp. Its hard to sell a team on free agents when that same team went 2-14 the year before with no QB.

Yea, Shanahan did a good job of identifying guys that he could get contributions from, but they were all guys that only we pursued or had to overpay (compared to what other teams were willing to pay).

It hasn't been proven that Lynch can convince guys to come here if they have literally any other option.

You're kidding, right? Pierre Garcon had options. Juszczyk had options. Earl Mitchell had options. Williams had options. Fusco had options. Dumervil had options. Goodwin had options. They chose SF because the $$, pitch, and opportunities were right.

I don't know how much of that was Lynch, and how much it was Shanahan, but we got several good players who other teams wanted, and they showed up on Sundays.
Sitton 9m
Robinson 10m
Fuller/Johnson/ 10m

Sign a LB
Sign Gallete/Murphy/Okafor
Sign Chris Hubbard

That's about 40 million. Still room for other things.

I was with you up until the bolded. Not sure those guys give us anything more than Dumervil/Marsh could (except an ulcer in Gallete's case). The rest are all of my top choices.

I'm not over the moon for those guys either, but we can take all the help we can get there lol. Plus they'd all be really cheap so the risk is low.
I honestly don't care wat it takes I want him
4 years 50mil sounds about right

They chose SF because we gave them significantly more money than anyone else would. That's not a great way to do business long term.

This. We can not only give him the money but frontload it. It's why SF is so attractive. You can have it all here.
