If he is a free agent then you have to at the very least be very interested. I don't see the 49ers drafting a WR early at all so any free agent WR with talent is a potential target.

If the money is right bring him in, that said I doubt they spend top dollar on a WR.

Intrigued by him and I would certainly take him at a 3yr $21mill type deal but I suspect some team will overpay and give him around 5yrs $50 mill. I do hope the Rams lose him. It would be a big blow, especially considering the fact they gave up a 2nd rd pick to get him.

I dont think signing Watkins is the best use of the Niners money. They should spend their money on an edge rusher, a cornerback, and interior offensive linemen. Watkins just isnt going to be a huge upgrade over what we have now

If he hits the market you pay this man his money . Jimmy G needs a big play WR and Sammy Watkins would be perfect in Kyle shannahans offense . Plus it would hurt our steepest competition in the division and help our chances of winning .

This would be aggressive, but not prudent. So it does not fit Lynch's "aggressively prudent" statements about free agency.
First, prudence is getting at least a mid-level CB. Melvin/Fuller fits the bill here as it would combine aggressive with prudence.
Signing Ansah to a big contract is very aggressive, but still prudent as the only impact pass rusher in the draft is Chubb and he ain't falling to 9/10, and our pass rush is terrible.
Then sign a LG that has starter ability.
Done. Getting just these three guys is a home run for free angency.
16m - Ansah
8-10m - Fuller/Melvin
8-10m - Guard
We'd still have tons of cap room to roll over for next year and to extend guys.

I'd love to get Watkins - he can really stretch the field.
