06-08 the 9ers were aggressive in free agency and it never panned out.

Yeah but at that time we had piss poor coaching. Now we have good coaches so it would have been awesome to get good FAs.

Can't make chicken salad out of chicken s**t sorry.

But you can have chicken salad taste like chicken s**t, and our chefs sucked last year.

does playing for the Vikings count? Overall a good move, I actually think the Bengals could be halfway decent this year

He never played for the Vikings. He's only played for the Bills and Niners... now the Bengals. Their division is just so much better than them though. Steelers and Ravens are two of the top teams in the AFC and the Browns IMO are headed in the right direction. Just not feeling the Bengals to make much noise. With the NFL you never know though.
Bye bye lockdown
Well at least we dont have to worry about trying to bring him back when every other option fails at CB this free agent period

The guy clearly is in money grab mode. Does not want to play for a contender. Don't know that I'd want a guy like that on my team.

Isnt that the only type of player that a team like this can sign? Not much difference between the Bengals and 49ers(actually the Bengals were good in 09), so if you dont want a player who wants money, you're not going to be signing any players.

I would like to rip Baalke's smile off his face...this stupid 'patience' crap is nothing but BullSh*t...I'm sick of slogans...fix this mess.

Maybe he's doing what consistent winning teams do and trying to build through the draft. Other than Woodson, what FA's did Green Bay have? Pittsburgh? The Colts in 06? The Giants in 07 other than Plaxico? See the pattern?

I just don't get it. There is a GIANT hole at CB. Absolutely huge. And we keep spinning this patience nonsense which is causing us to miss out on several decent CBs. This is just ridiculous. What the hell are we waiting on?????

Ok, so finally a couple fans agree with me with what's been going on these past days is absolutely horrendous. I can't believe this offseason for us, and I am very sick about this year. I feel like we already the losers in this season.

Damn you haven't even seen the contract yet? On top of that he went to Ohio State maybe he just wants to end his career in his home? jesus.

_____

If "ending his career in Ohio" is more important to him than trying to win a championship... he is truly a washed up CB.

First it was money grab, then you were wrong, so now he's washed up lol...

Either way I'm glad hes gone.

no kidding. "is more important to him than trying to win a championship"... c'mon bro. please tell me you weren't drunk or hung over when you spit that. SF is no way a playoff team (insert A.I playoffs rant here) let alone on their way to win a championship.
I would have really liked to have Nate back for the right price, oh well.

Same thing super bowl winning front offices do. Letting the losing teams overspend in FA and building through the draft and augmenting with lowpriced veterans if needed. It works, its proven. Teams who win free agency are not the teams who win superbowls.
Great ball security!!!!
