Well, the Giants and Steelers will probably lowball him anyway so it's possible he signs with us. None of the better free agents think SF are contenders so we'll either have to over pay or sign a guy like Plax.

MaioccoCSN From Pittsbugh @EdBouchette reports Plaxico Burress just left there, declined to talk. "49ers also have interest but considered long shot."

very difficult to sign a free agent wide receiver with A. Smith as starting QB. "Who will be throwing to me" has to factor hugely in the decision.

not sure Burress would even be a good move, but I just feel like after not even a week fans as a whole are really waiting for something to happen. I just want some good players

He can save a plane ride and just go straight to the jets.
Our front office is not going to sign him. He is not a scrub.

Maybe we can get Willis to threaten to end his career when we play the Giants and Steelers this year. That way he signs with us.

He won't sign with us. No way. Our front office and ownership is too inept to get him, especially compared to those of the Jets, Giants, and Steelers.
