Johnathan Joseph (CIN) He would help our lame secondary, and then we could get the ball back.. More chances on Offense= more chances to score?

REALLY want this.

Also one of our most likely free agent targets. Nate Clements will probably be dumped once the lockout ends.

I hope we reconstruct his contract and keep Clements, hes still our best CB. Would love to have both Clements and Joseph.
I have no problem with nate if he was making less money, and wasn't tasked with covering the other team's #1 WR.

I think this is true... there are only a handful of WR's in the NFL that will put up 1000 yards with the current QB play and Rice isnt one of them.
Alex and Antonio Bryant had a pretty sweet connection while he was here (unless i made that up) So if he had a WR like Sydney rice, who knows what could happen. (A Wr that you can just throw the ball up to..)

Which is probably true, but in Harbaugh's TE friendly offense Vernon Davis would still be pretty much the go to guy. So that would be good production by Rice.

Last year d's clamped down on VD, If we had a true WR threat, then it would open up a huge opening for our weapons.

But its about the same production we get from Crabtree. What does that say?

What is this "True" bulls**t? Someone who's already succeeded because they have had multiple years with a successful QB? Sidney Rice was nothing before Brett Farve had a ridiculously successful year with the Vikings. What makes you think he comes to a team with no QB and elevates it? He wasn't able to do that on the s**tty Vikings before they had good QB play.

Well Brett Favre's best year was when he had Sidney Rice.

I never said anything about RICE in my post, nore did I say he is the "true" wr we need. I was stating a known fact, that we need a True #1. We currently have two Wr's who look like they would run a 4.7 (morgan, crabs) that despite their best efforts don't really get much separation to allow a window for the QB to throw to.

Granted though, I do hold out hope that with a short quick strike offense, or quick slants that maybe morgan and Crabs can surprise me this year.

All I'm saying is whatever "true number 1" you bring in, hes going to have the same type of marginal success Crabtree has seen up to this point. There are only a handful of guys like Fitzgeral and C Johnson who can be elite regardless of who is throwing, once a guy like that is available via trade block or free agency you are bidding against 32 other teams and at least a few are willing to overpay to get the player.

Crabtree and Josh Morgan are not the offenses problem. They are more than capable of starting on other teams than the 49ers in this league.
Anyone find it funny that the thread immediately below this makes it a complete sentence?

Careful with your words.

So you deny it then??

So what about TO making Jeff Garcia into an All-Pro??

Or

Andre Johnson with David Carr.....David frickin Carr LOL.

Even if Rice doesn't work out with Smith, maybe he'll work with Kaepernick.

Uh yeah I do deny that Farve's best year was with Sidney Rice thats ridiculous he had consecutive league MVPs and a championship season I don't see how you could argue it gets any better than that. His most efficient may have been with the Vikings that year but he should get a majority of the credit for that.

Jeff Garcia had probowl seasons without TO

What about Andre Johnson with David Carr?
