Yeah after all that scandal about overpaying Nate , I doubt the 9ers will overpay for a CB. I would rather use top money on DT and DE and have some "good" CB's like the other top tier Defenses.

Whoever wrote that article is way way off base. The Colts signing 3 FAs? When was the last time they signed a big time FA? or The Saints signing Nnamdi (when they have 2 great cover CBs and a 1st rounder in Robinson) because they didnt generate enough turnovers(Nnamdi isnt a ballhawk). Just bad writing and makes me assume he has no idea about football.
I wanna sign Paul Pulonsky. Sounds lik

Chad Greenway would be a nice addition to our defense, he would be a great OLB in our 3-4, in Minny he was asked to drop back in coverage a lot, with us he could be a really good pass rusher, he has the size to play the position and is a much better tackler than Haralson.
Greenway and Lawson as our OLB's would be tough

He is older, but can still put up decent numbers and is greater threat than Josn Morgan. I'd like to see us sign Santana Moss. Although going into his 10th season, he still quietly put up a 1,000 yard season with no RB to speak of. Having Moss come in to be the 3rd receiving option would really give our offense a weapon that will not cost too much, and he is someone that can burn defenses if they are too focused on Davis, Gore, and Crabtree.
Other than that, we need to bring in a serviceble guard. Realisticaly, that is all we should be spending in free agency unless we are going to make a play for Asomougha. All other needs (WR, longterm QB, OLB, NT/DT/DE, CB) can be met in the draft.
There are others I like on the list, but I'd really like to develop our own draft picks. A guy like Steve Smith that was drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round could easily be on our team (i.e. if we developed a Crabtree, a Jason Hill when he was here, etc). No need to open the wallet for anyone unless it's an All-Pro type like Asomougha, and even then, I still question it because we are more than 2 years away from the Super Bowl.

I understand the whole Clements ordeal we had, but if we have the ability to, I'd love for us to go after Asomugha.. And Clements will be in talks to restructure his current deal.. Why not go after a much more prolific CB in Asomugha if Clements demands are too high?
As for the other free agents, it sounds like there are quite a few that would be able to make an impact.. What I want to know is if there is an OG we can go after?

No doubt Greenway is a good player, but he's more of a 4-3 linebacker.
