Look I know this is a pipe dream, but what if we had shost at getting Manning in here next year. Would you through a huge contract at him. I mean come on. If your going to give a player an 8 year 80 million dollar contract maybe it should be a franchise QB. How much do you think it would take 15 million year maybe 18 million. A legitiment superstar QB. Shot at the playoffs every year, and perhaps the Supoerbowl with the right coach. Anyway I'll keep dreaming.

Anyway, if the Colts let him go, it'd be because he'd demand a HUUUUUGE salary that they couldn't pay, despite him being the focus of their ENTIRE team. When you consider that the offense has been tailored to him, and the defense is built to play in shootouts, that must be an astronomical amount for him.

Then you throw in possibly half the league, the bids would be crazy.

Finally, we'd have to pay a premium to coerce him to come here. We'd seriously have to break the BANK to get him.

But the Colts won't let him go. Who do they have to replace the focal point of their team?

According to the web site Stampedeblue.com, Colts radio announcer Bob Lamey made some critical off-air comments about Peyton Manning during his four interception game against the Cowboys.

He said the NFL had 'figured Manning out' and the Colts bench him in favor of Curtis Painter for the the rest of this season. He also said the Colts would finish last in the AFC South, and should spend time in this year's NFL Draft looking for a replacement to Peyton.

Lamey's comments were made off air and not broadcasted but played on radio station 1070 The Fan a few days later.

According to Phil Richards of the Indianapolis Star, Lamey on Tuesday approached Manning in the locker room to apologize. He appeared to accept. Lamey declined comment.

Alex isn't a ton better then any qb in the NFL. Alex is dogpoo and would have been cut long ago if our cheap owners were not so determined to get ROI from him.
