oh man, if Gore goes down, we're f**ked. But really, were we any less f**ked with Coffee backing him up?? Please bring in a Vet.

True, I didn't think Coffee was going to make much of a difference even if he did get playing time.

I didn't wanna jinx us but I was praying during all of TC for Dixon to upseat Coffee (I had absolutely no faith in coffee). The Dude's mechanics were horrendous during the regular season. He blew the Vikings game for us, and a huge Allen Rossum KR against the s**thawks. (That f**king pissed me off all f**king season, even though it was Gore's 'mega-game'.)

Coffee barely made a TD against the Falcons, it was pitiful (as was that entire game).

Yeah the Falcons mishap is what stands out to me the most. Just when we were getting a little bit of momentum, Coffee decides to run off the field while everybody else chases Morgan.

Then we're forced to use a timeout on the next play because we don't have enough players on the field.

Out of the free agent list, Kevin Jones would be the best back-up. He would understand his roll, he's got 7 or 8 years experience. Yes or No?

Well bring on the NO NAMERS!!!
If we really want to make a run at the playoffs this year, we need someone who can come in and protect the QB. Gore will need a breather throughout the game and will need a quality backup if he gets hurt. Dixon may have potential, but he is going to screw up often as a rookie, and he could get our QB killed on a blitz. So Westbrook is a no brainer - may have lost a step but he is clutch.
Shaun Alexander...

Really nothing terribly wrong with that IMHO. MRob isn't the long term answer, but if they keep those three at RB, maybe it opens an additional spot on the 53 man roster--maybe at WR, for example.

I'd love to see Ziggy suiting up on Sundays. Keep 3 RBs instead of 4, and 6 WRs instead of 5.

Crabs, Morgan, Ginn, KWilliams, Hill & Ziggy.

MRob could be a short term insurance if Gore should go down. Dixon needs time to get up to speed on pass protection, but shouldn't take forever.

MRob is excellent in pass protection, and good catching the ball out of the backfield. He may be better running behind an improved O Line. And he is a punishing runner, even if his vision and instincts have been lacking in the past. He might be ok in the short term, and we really haven't seen him perform as a RB since Rathman took over as RB's coach.

Maybe we'll see this Sunday.

really good post, and great points on MRob.

Perhaps Felix Jones?

Dude Dallas would never trade Felix Jones
I would love to have Westbrook but we will see. I also don't think Glens shoes are gonna be that hard to fill anyways.
