Sign both Brady and Manning and have them compete for the starting spot.

TE:
Vernon Davis- 49ers Resign
DT:
Haolti Ngata- Ravens GIVE HIM 1 BILLION DOLLARS
DE:
Shaun Ellis- Jets Good but old
Cullen Jenkins- Packers Decent but would be 30
Ray McDonald- 49ers Resign for Cheap
LB
David Harris- Jets Would love to have, but Navorro Bowman will be Spikes replacement and Harris I think plays the same spot as Willis
Manny Lawson- 49ers We will see but his cost will have to go down big time
LaMarr Woodley- Steelers Would love to have him but would probably get franchised or we won't have enough money with Goldson, Smith, VD, Willis etc
Takeo Spikes- 49ers reign cheap as vet leader
CB:
Jonathan Joesph- Bengals Would love these two guys but again doubt we have enough money with all our big name FA's.
Eric Wright- Browns (born in SF)
S:
Dashon Goldson- 49ers Resign based on this years production and his cost
Vernon Davis- 49ers Resign

There is no WR Jacoby Jones for the Packers. It's James Jones, and he's pretty good.

Yeah he's one of their up and comers. I lived in WI for 12 years, have family there, and their fans are excited about him.
That FA list is impressive at most positions, as it currently sits. Unfortunately, it's likely to be vastly different when the season ends.....
Always the way. Hopefully Vernon Davis and Alex Smith are not on that list come seasons end.
(if Smiths not on it, then he must have had a good year)

Who do you think has the best chance at hitting the market???

The NFL equivalent: Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees all now scheduled to be free agents in 2011. Guess is none hit the market.

I second that, the Patriots are great at letting players go at the right time. I think Tom Brady is nearing the point where he is no longer needed by them.

I'm much more concerned about which of our own FAs we'll be able to sign in the next two years (it sure as heck won't be all of them) than which players who won't be available anyway we could bring in.

Sure they're great at letting players go, but they're smart enough not to let their franchise QB go without a capable replacement.

If there's no tag then it's up to him.

Well in that case, if there's no tag, we damn well better bring his ass home. Whatever it takes to sign him.....do it!!!!!
