Ryan Clark would be a nice hard-hitting safety to pair with Goldson if no one picks him up.

So you'd rather pay Rolle $8 million per year to play strong safety? It's not like he's a ball-hawking free safety, that's for sure. Would have been an crazy waste of money.
Well first thing first its not your money not his or mine either its the dorks (yorks) money. Let them spend their stupid @ss money. It's their fault for being cheap @sses (earlier this decade) that is the reason why this franchise fell to the bottom of the NFL. As far as Rolle goes he is an upgrade on what we have even though were going to overpay the guy.

Sorry, but having over $100 million tied up in two players in the secondary is not a good way to run a team.

Like another poster said, Rolle wasn't even the best safety on his own team. He would be a mediocre upgrade and not worth being paid as the best safety in the NFL when he's nowhere near that.

You can count the Bucs in for the Eric Berry sweepstakes.

Havn't heard much about OJ Atogwe this off-season. Maybe the Rams target Berry at #2 as well.

I agree with you. Some people on here really feel like Free Agency is the way to go to build a contender. Our safeties did real well last year and it looks like Michael Lewis will be staying for one more year. Why sign Rolle, who has talked a lot of s**t about the Niners in the past, to the LARGEST contract ever for a safety when all in all, isn't really a difference maker back there. He's a good player, but I would much rather draft a safety especially because this year's draft class has plenty of promising safety prospects.

Dammit, I REALLY wanted Will Allen in FA.

Will Allen is very injury prone. Broke his forearm twice in two consecutive seasons.
Filed to ESPN: Rams reached agreement with former Giants DT Fred Robbins on a three-year deal worth up to $12 million.

Filed to ESPN: KC re-signed WR Chris Chambers to a three-year deal worth up to $15 million that includes $5.9 million in gtd money.

When LB Scott Fujita signed with Browns, it allowed Saints to sign a free agent. They've scheduled Rams DE Leonard Little to visit Thurs.

49ers paid David Carr good backup QB money -- two years, $6.25 million, with another $1.87 million worth of incentives.

Eagles WR Jason Avant signed a five-year deal with Philadelphia worth up to $18 million that includes $8 million in guaranteed money.

How can you figure that breaking your forearm is injury prone. That is not something that is susceptible to breaking it is unordinary and should not be accounted for the injury bug. Multiple hamstring pulls, ankle sprains, ACL.... those are prevalent injuries attributed to injury prone not breaking a forearm.

Not Adam Schefter news update, but close ex-NFL Network...
Jason La Confora said via NFL Network chat:

They will continue to look for help on D, in the secondary in particular. The Lions and 49ers are both interested in PacMan Jones and both of their coaches are expected to be at his workout March 19.
