49er Fans need to be realistic in FA this year!

What do you mean like last year? We didn't get any good players that could come in and start in free agency. We got Jones, whom I thought was a huge waste of money, and Tony Pashos. Those are the only two that were expected to compete for starting roles. I'm not even counting Moran Norris.

I believe wailers was talking about two guys who would be projected as starters, not two guys that come in and are expected to compete with the starters we already have. Let's be honest, if anyone is expected to compete for a position which we consider a position of NEED, then we aren't really upgrading, are we? If you bring in a guy who is undoubtedly better than what we have at a position of need, then we are upgrading.

Some of them may or may not warrant a new deal this time next year. In any event the idea of trying to retain all of these guys won't be possible.

The 5 reasons I stated above are the reasons why I would not get excited about FA this year. Do not over hype yourself just to be disgusted when we don't sign anyone. You have been warned!

the 49ers stopped spending a lot of money when scotty took over. fact. I don't see the stadium thing being any issue what so ever. you bring in the big names to fill the seats, a route we're not taking. LOL.

2 players would make sense to go get, but i don't see us doing so. I'm lost for words that were not interested in Rolle. We need help at safety, he's shown he can make the switch and has adapted. Sometimes you have to pay the top $$ to get a good player. scotty!
