Weird that they distinguish between DT & DE, but not between OT, OG, & OC.

AB, without a cap this year, can teams sign players with huge year-one salaries instead of huge roster bonuses so it won't impact them after a new cap is in place?

My question about year-one salaries goes to the same issue as is presented by your question. By performance, of course Staley is overpaid. But the team has boatloads of cap space, so why not frontload the contract of a young guy you expect to have around a while and use the savings in the later years when you need it on somebody else.

Do you not understand NFL contracts? This is not how much he is paid every year. This includes his signing bonus for his new, long term deal. He isnt even in the top 10 of highest paid LTs.
