Do you think the niners will make a big splash in FA this year?

do you think they will sign or trade for some big time players? if so which players?

its only Jan 5th. Perhaps you should control your pipe dreams at least for another month or so
There won't be much out there in FA to make a splash over, due to the pending uncapped year which is pretty much a certainty at this point.

lets hope so, im concerned there won't be that many to choose from cause the upcaped year, every team will have the money to keep their free agents.
Probably not, most likely will just resign and extend current players.

Only two players I would want are Mankins and Peppers, and both teams will be able to keep them (Mankins will be a RFA and too good for the Pats to give up, and Peppers will demand too much money for us).

Looks like we will be rebuilding through the draft...
i think we sign either a bigger name f/a T to start opposite Staley, or G to start in place of Baas.

we definitely sign a KR/PR

and im going to go out on a limb here and predict we sign a fairly decent DB, probably a CB.

i think with Michael Lewis getting older, having concussion issues, and being a poor cover S, we are probably looking to replace him. i say we move Goldson to SS, due to his NFL worst cover S statistics, and the fact that he racks up tackles, can blitz, and knocks the football loose alot.

look for a replacement FS, or sign a CB to ensure solid coverage with Clements return from injury/age coming into factor next season.

For all the FA eaters out there, one would have to pay to high a price with the uncapped year.

Teams can afford to pay there top FAs, or ask for ridiculous compensation in return.
no

Well, if the player is a FA you don't get to ask for compensation. As for being able to pay them, well so can the other teams. It will be as always. Highest bidder.
To complete the analogy, the pool is shallow so there will be no big splash.
when was the last time we made a "splash"? I think it was when we signed Nate Clements for 80 MILLION DOLLARS!!!! No splashes please.

*cough* Justin Smith *cough*
i hope they extend willis, VD and Ahmad Brooks first of all. then i would like to see a quality guard and possibly J. Cribbs from Cleveland to fix our s**tty return game. i dont think thats asking too much of them. the other positions can be filled in the draft
The niners have tried to extend P Willis-but he has said he will play out his contract. Another similar year like this and V. Davis-will be high priced also.

Refresh my memory. Isn't their three types of UFA, FA that has been franchised, and RFA? In order to get draft picks from the team for a FA who has tenure, you have to franchise the player. The team can also match the deal correct. RFA is one who doesn''t have tenure played three years, team can match. Then FA who you can sign and don't give comp. The other team only gets suppl pick. Correct me if I am wrong.
