Iz can haz a confuse
Thanks man, been waiting for this list. I have a question:

What happens if team A signs team B's RFA, team B signs team C's RFA, and team C signs team A's RFA? Does the whole pick swapping cancel out? What happens if you sign 2 RFAs? What are the details for signing RFAs?

Allow me to clarify. We're not gonna get any good Free Agents unless we're willing to give up high draft picks in compensation.

Maybe this will stop everybody's fascination with signing another team's best players that we see every offseason.

usually, when signing a RFA, the team has 7 days to match or let him go and receive compensation determined on how high a tender was.

there are 4(I think) tender levels.

1st and 3rd
1st
2nd
Drafted Round

Now, some times like with wes welker you sign him and then the team matches and then trades him for a higher pick. Welker went for a 2nd, and 7th to NE, a smart move by NE but stupid on the part of Miami.

Its confusing, but for me, ive been researching this since 2000 and i have a pretty good undertsanding. Hope this helped.

You got it, i live for this time, Free Agency, and Salary Cap crunching, but it might be for not with no CBA and no Salary Cap,

But ill still keep track of salaries.

man i hope so, I would love to get a top player, but not if it means losing 1 or both 1st rd picks or future 1st rd picks.

NFL team owners have got to be loving this.

If the CBA doesn't get renewed, then teams are going to save a ton of salary cap due to the RFA status.

If the CBA gets renewed, it's only going to happen if the players union concedes on many different positions in order to gain short-term increases in income.

In terms of the NFL, Shaj should state that this is a Win-Lose scenario.
