Even on the "downside" of his career, TO would be more productive for us in the near term than any amount of Josh Morgan's "upside".

I agree with you.

And TO will only help our offense, including Davis and Crabtree. Imagine defenses having to cover Crabtree on one side, Owens on the other, and especially Vernon in the middle. They'd have to play with like 4 safeties against us

BTW T.O. right now probably is > Morgan will ever be

and for people who said T.O. would slow down Ted Ginn's development, Ted Ginn is just fast garbage. His route running and catching is terrible. The most he could do is stretch the field. Next year is going to be his 5th year in the league, I doubt he'll get too better

whats this reoccurring thought that TO was or is a great route runner. every dog has his day and im sure hes gotten the best of some DBs because of his overall skill set but, homeboy doesn't run good routes. rather than forcing a DB to switch his hips multiple times in order to gain an advantage while running a route TO just powers past them because of his size, strength and his long speed. not to mention, teams put great route runners all over the field including the slot. TO should probably paint a target on himself if he ever has to run too many routes between the hashmarks or starting at the marks because he gonna have to square up on every rec. att.....gonna be dead meat.

I would be ok with TO coming back, but only if Singletary can keep his mouth in check.
according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus, Owens will be signed by an NFL team soon. A Question to the zone is, what if there is an injury to an WR in camp? Do you bring Owens in then?

he is about to retire soon...his next team might be his last... I personally feel he still has a good 4 years left in him....

I'd love to have him here, but I'm sure he wants to win a Super Bowl.....if he can put up with Alex then fine....but I don't think he can....it might be better for him to go to a team that has a legit QB that is ready to take his team to the playoffs and forward.

although that QB might not be Vince Young....I feel they could use his presence in the passing game and the running game....and would help Chris Johnson on outside runs.......and the Titans are a well coached, with a good defense...

maybe the Falcons as well...I'm sure he is better than Micheal Jenkins and would complement Rowdy White well.....and they have Tony Gonzalez who is fellow future HOF that would be respected veteran presence that TO needs to have around to stay level headed.
A buddy of mine on FB just posted that Damon and Bruce are talking about bringing TO back to the Bay. Anyone else listening?

Yah hopefully its the bright-side or the best-side of the bay!!!
come on, bring back TO!!!
The BENGALS didn't want him. Teams are willing to take a risk on an immature punk known to cause trouble in the locker room IF he produces at a probowl level on the field. At this point in his career Owens on the field production isn't enough for most teams to overlook his pattern of tearing locker rooms apart.
I don't want TO and his "I practice when I feel like it" attitude anywhere near Crabtree.
I have an odd feeling that T.O. will end up on the Steelers.

I was thinking the same thing. T.O. is a beast... his problem is his mouth and selfish attitude... not work ethic.

If TO gives us 7 to 10 TD's that will open up a lot of opportunity for our young receivers and our running game. As far as TO's mouth it can get petty bad, but I always like his confidence. TO is a good cat, he is so passionate to where it translates as to being cocky! As far as work ethic and practice, I never heard TO or someone accused him not being a hard worker until now! You maybe correct, but I never heard it. I always thought he had one of the best work ethic in the NFL who actually lives a good clean life. So if it is true, Welcome back home TO.

At first glance I would say sure why not but when you really think about it

Owens had 55 catches last year 3 more than Morgan and Gore at 52 each

Owens 15.1 ypc is impressive but his 5 td to Morgan and Gores 3 each isn't

There's only so many passes to go around if the 9ers want a balanced running a passing attack your taking away Morgans production and moving him to a slot receiver cause you know TO isn't going to play a 3rd WR role

If TO was a selfless person just cared about winning and took a role where he would only see maybe 30-40 passes it would be kind of scary what they could put on the field

Crabs
Morgan
Owens
