2. Sims - disagree. Have u even seen him play this season? There are talks of him possibly staying @ LT even when staley is back & all u came up with is "sucks?"
3. Just cuz manny doesnt deliver double digit sacks doesnt mean he flat out sucks & should be let go.
4. VD should get an extension. If he were drafted on a team like indy he wouldve been having seasons like this for 3 yrs now. VD & Willis will probably be 49ers for most of their careers.
5. Ray mc can walk. He simply hasnt been consistant.
6. Dashon - if he gets to stay then idk how manny shouldnt. Dashon has made his share of mistakes.

Yeah, that's always in the best interest of the team, but it's hard to get a player to agree to those terms unless he has no leverage. I think there's enough teams out there that still think Merriman is a much better player than his performance dictates this season.

Keep in mind that he's playing on a bum knee. It's hard to expect someone to be an explosive pass rusher when they have only one good leg. Plus, San Diego's defense hasn't been the same since Manusky left. Whether that's the reason or possibly because of the loss Wade Phillips, the whole defense hasn't looked the same since.

I think a healthy Merriman under Manusky could be a great combo. Assuming Dumervil gets locked down in Denver, Merriman appears to be the next best option.

Agree with your comments. Merriman could wind up on a number of 3-4 teams.

I can see him in Cleveland, Green Bay or Miami.

I expect Dumervil to get resigned or franchised in Denver.

I would prefer to have us stay out of this garbage FA class altogether, watch some teams throw huge money around at some of these players. Willie Parker as a backup to Gore would be really all I'd consider, focus should be on the draft

if it's not an uncapped year there are some decent passrusher and OL on the market. The 2 biggest areas of concern. I want to see the 9ers sign 1 pass rusher and 1 OL in FA. Then draft 2 OL within the 1st 2 rounds of the draft with a S in there as well.

Who said they were talking about keeping Sims as LT when Staley comes back?
