That would be a nice Offensive line. However this new OL Coach better kick Chilo right in the nutsack and tell him to get his $hit together.

Oh and Mankins is from California (Catheys Valley) I believe that is around Fresno, CA?

I thought Sims filled in better at LT than he has at RT in the past. If staley stays out, we should probably stick with what we had this last game...

I think Rachal is playing hard just not smart. He needs a new O-line coach to boost his confidence and work on his technique. I wouldn't be totally shocked if Pete Hoener got promoted to O-line coach after the season. He is a great teacher who has coached O-Line for several years in the NFL (Arizona and Chicago) and college and look at what he did with Vernon Davis turning him into a great blocker at tight end and Davis really had no experince as a blocker coming into the NFL.

Its like 20 miles away from merced. Still only about an hour or so from Fresno. He did go to Fresno State though.

Logan Mankins is a beast at left guard and I would love to have him on the team (goodbye and good riddance Baas), but I’m not sure Scot McCloughan would go after him. Scot just doesn’t seem to value offensive guards.

Agreed. That's saying alot too.
I'm more worried about that right side. Hopefully, Chilo gets up to speed at ROG, but Snyder at ROT should be a concern.

That's a great point about Hoener, he is good at teaching technique and fundamental blocking. Rachal has to much talent to be playing the way he is our OL coach blows.

As I've heard the story on the 2005 draft, McCloughan LOVED Logan Mankins and was about to pick him with the 1st pick of the 2nd round but the Patriots grabbed him with the last pick of the 1st round. Of course we then drafted Baas.
I wouldn't doubt McCloughan makes a play for him if he's still a free agent . . . remember we did make a play for Faneca in 2008, so Mankins should not be out of the question.

I'm hoping that Scotty isn't here to not go after him next year.

Logan DOMINATES !!!!
I hope we grab a couple blue chip offensive lineman next year, once we have a dominating offensive line we can run a "smashmouth offense", "WCO", "the Coryell offense" ...ANYTHING, so lets hope we fix the Offensive line next year and stop thinking we can coach up a lineman and expect him to dominate, we could only do that when Coach Mckittrick was here !!!

I hope the Niners get serious and pay top dollar for Logan if the Pats don't franchise him; he would be a huge addition to this oline. Heitmann still has about 2, max 3 good years left in him, and we should draft a center this year or next year with our 3rd.
Get a better oline coach, I believe Chilo has the ability to be a good/great RG, just needs some better coaching is all. A
A RT is a must, be it the draft or FA, we need to go after somebody stellar.

Logan will be a RFA if the CBA doesn't get renewed.
