Favre was only going to a team that has the possibility of contending in the post season. Warner didn't like what he saw and split. What's to say anyone else would have wanted to come here?

Don't think the Niners had any chance at Cassel...seemed because of Pioli going to the Chiefs, the Patriots were willing to let Cassel go there for little compinsation as professional courtesy.
And Farve of course would make the 49er better for one year. Until he retires again. But would Favre want to a team not ready to compete at the top level, instead of a team like the Vikings that has most of the pieces to make a run for the title?

I think all we are missing is a good QB. Put Favre or Cassel in our offense and we would be good. Hill is not the future people please understand that.

And please understand that to say all we are missing is a good QB slightly misses the point that we have no O line.
