I don't think we're looking at a QB. We just cut a veteran backup and we have Nate Davis as our young prospect. Waste of a spot on the 53-man.

First thing I did was look at who was cut by the other teams. 1st I looked at T's, then OLB/DE's and QB's. I assume they did the same.

We're talking about players that have been cut from other 53 man rosters, not starters and game changers. Your list makes sense for first round picks, not for castoffs from other teams.
We have three QBs. We're not looking at QB.
We're already developing Briggs and Brooks as pass rushers. We're not looking for OLBs.
OT. Absolutely agree with this one. We're carrying three because of Marvel's retirement. We're absolutely looking here.
We're probably also looking at FBs.

Unfortunatly, I don't think they are looking at QB also. Although I like Hill it just seems like most stories on the niners say the same thing, "If the Niners had a QB they could be a playoff team." I'm kind of tierd of waiting for next year to build through the draft. We need to start winning. I hope the Niner's brass knows soimething everyone else seems not to.

1) Who is the QB who didn't make a 53 man roster who could step in without knowing the plays or offense and make us a playoff team? This is a real question.
2) Who is the QB who was available at 10 in last years draft who would step in and make us a playoff team. This is a real question.

Maybe I msunderstood, but I don't think Nate is a waste of space. We would have lost him if we let him go, he looked good in the preseason and we can continue working with him. He could be the guy in three years. I also doubt that we would have found anything better than Shaun or Alex availabe anyway.

I think he's saying that signing a 4th QB who was just cut would be a waste of space on our roster, not that Davis is a waste of space.

Good questions. I agree there there is no great answer. At the same time, I beleive that there are QB's out there who are avalible via trade who would be an upgrade for our team. Yes, it would take time to become familiar with our players and the O , but it is not like Hill or Smith look like they have a strong comand of either of those. I like them but, they haven't look that impressive IMO. If trading for a QB can make us competitive then I say lets do it.
